Background Life Story
Born in Sydney. When I was 5, due to a promotion my father received, we moved from Sydney and went to The Netherlands. We stayed there for 2 years, then moved to Chile. After 4 years, we moved from there to Finland. After 2 years there, we moved to Spain. And after 4 years in Spain, in the year 2000, we moved back home to Sydney.
OK. Now, my father used to regale me with tales of this great man, Ray "Mr. Perpetual Motion" Price. A man who was tough as nails and got him really into the sport of rugby league (prior to this, he'd played union at school and knew nothing about league). He used to tell me how passionate he was, and how great the sport of rugby league was.
At around this time, 1999, the Rugby Union World Cup was on, and so I began taking an interest in the Wallabies (a matter of national pride). We won, and I began to like Union. But my dad used to always tell me League was better.
When we finally moved back to Sydney, my dad's passion, in combination with the fact my whole family supports the Eels, swayed me into following the Eels and learning about the sport. I am glad to say I have never loked back since.
