How do we leverage the warriors to piss off the RUWC organisers?

Isn't the NFL shown live in more countries around the world than any other sporting league and has greater merchandise sales on a global scale than any other code?
Nah, nothing beats the European Champions League... (soccer)

?? Really ???

Other than the big matches, Id guess that EPL, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga etc. would outrate the majority of Champions League games?

Surely Man U v Chelsea for example is watched by more people than a Pool game between Bestikas and Galatasary?

The Mad Butcher had a fair crack at the 'Party Central' on Fox Sports this arvo. Gave them a fair spray.

Also noticed a couple of Warriors jerseys and flags in the couple of minutes I saw of Wales V Namibia.

...and yet the PM feels it is necessary to attend the NRL GF rather than an All Blacks game - that should tell you something.

The NZ media are obviously already aware of league, the foreign contingent, particularly the french, are completely ignorant of league's relative popularity in the pacific, I'm sure the IRB would like it to stay that way. It would not surprise me one bit if they send out a communiqué reminding the media that has the contracts to cover the RWC where their allegences lie. The article cited above is just a taste of what would be going on.

On another note, if SBW really wants to earn the big bucks he should be letting the IRB know he is considering a public switch to league at the end of the RWC.

I love it how you think the IRB are some big evil corporation. The NRL is small time to the RWC and I doubt they give a shit about it.

And you can't blame party central for not showing the final. It was built for the RWC so it is obviously going to show RWC games.

I find an organisation that threatens to sue a shop for advertising "All Black Lingerie" slightly egoist, but not evil. I must maintain that rugby union bodies have been involved in some evil workings in the past.

As has been shown above, Party Central has been constructed using public money. A bit of common sense would dictate that if public demand is strong, the venue should be turned over to the GF. If the RWC had a heart and "didn't give a shit about" the NRL, they would simply give it up for the evening.

Looks like the council is steping in to defuse a potential bomb by setting up alternative sites, which will cost more public money when they could have just used the existing sites.

This is the Rugby's worse nightmare.

I don't give a sh!t in how much the Rugby mob try to deny themselves and the Rugby following League fans, that whole day will have the attention of EVERY New Zealander and as a consequense, the overseas people that are going to watch it in the pubs (try to deny anyone from watching the GF and see what happens to that pub) are going to get a first hand glimpse in what top notch world class league is like.

I gaurantee that there'll be a good percentage of them are going to like in what they see.

And besides, this coverage is already going around the world anyway.

And I know some Storm fans watching from Saturn.

They will be watching it live although there'll be a delay by 1 hour and 27 minutes and 56 seconds.

Probably, but I'd imagine that can be a bit deceptive. How many people wear fitted NFL caps without giving a shit about the NFL?

Regardless, that's not an indication of popularity of progress.

The Superbowl still only gets 15 million viewers outside of America and Canada so it can't be that popular. Even more so if it's got the best tv coverage in the world, you'd expect more than 15 mil globally
