Lyon ? He's got nothing.

I don't think they'll go with Cross.

I reckon Heigno is as good as in the team.

brett hodgson

kearney showed him up..

if stewart is injured, kearney will be NSW #1 and the halves tonight showed nothing, gidley will be NSW #7...and if anasta gets a nsw jersey ill king hit something..
some of the bias on this one is staggering.

I thought Hodgson was significnatly better. Kearney was hooked for last quarter of the match??

Cross was the best prop on the field by a mile. He got stuff all game time too.

Would be the perfect option up front for NSW - runs hard, tackles well and has AGRESSION!

Good player!

Cross and Laffranchi should have both confirmed their spots for NSW.

Cross will certainly negate any effect of a Webb bench spot for Qld.

Heighno will not be picked for game one but IMHO he has put his hand up to replace any injuries in the forwards for any of the games

Monas impressed, Quinn was ordinary and hearing that Melbourne worshipping chimp rave about him only made his errors look worse, Carney aquitted himself well as did Pearce, Hodgo was better than Kearney but I don't see the selctors overlooking Stewart

Perfect off the Bench imo. Certainly better than O'meley. How sad to be over the hill at 27...

Backrower stocks look good. It's a shame E-tag was fit for this match, because he was in some great form before he got injured.

Hahah Joel Monaghan for origin
NSW are going to get f**king belted if they are contemplating sh*t like Monaghan, Lyon, Anasta, Finch. Qld will crucify NSW

I have been hyping Anthony Laffranchi for years and it was good to see him almost certainly secure a NSW jersey last night.

Ben Cross has to be picked as well. Everytime he carried the ball he almost broke the defence line and got a quick play the ball putting the attack on the front foot.

My Team:

The starting pack is a monster. We get on top on QLD and then bring on line breaking back rowers in Hoffman and Tupou who cut up a tired QLD side. The halves won't be that important. We should play to our strengths, an amazing pack!

1.Stewart
2.Monaghan
3.Gasnier
4.Cooper
5.Hayne
6.Bird
7.Gidley
8.Kite
9.Buderus
10.White
11.Laffranchi
12.Mason
13.Gallen

14.Cross
15.Hoffman
16.Tupou
17.Hornby

Kurt Gidley is not a Origin standard halfback. When will people start understanding that...

He'd go well off the bench, but starting 7? It's far too much of a risk up against what will probably be the best halves combination in the game

Than Monaghan ? Who the f**k isn't ? He is a nuffy who has nothing except jumping for crossfield kicks - he's made a career out of it. Who's a better winger and can do more damage:
Grothe
Lawrence
Amos Roberts
McManus (not sure of elibibility NT)
Jennings on the wing

There's 5 to get you started. If NSW pick sh*t like mongahan, finch, analsta, hindmarsh, ryan - they will get towelled by a thousand. Look at what Qld have our wide:
Hodges
Slater
Inglis
Falou
And NSW is clutching at Joel Mongahan ffs. HE IS A SPASTIC (albeit one who saves his best game yearly for against the tigers as retribution for o'donnell's elbow on his brother)

I kinda agree with Mac, its not as if they are going to drop Stewart though. Gidley would give better support to whatever halves we pick when it comes to running the show.

No props on the bench, a 5-8 at lock, Purtell, Carney?

It will be:

Stewart
Hayne
Gasnier
Cooper/Monaghan
Quinn
Bird
Finch (great halves names lol)
Kite
Buderus
Bailey
Laffranchi
Hoffman
Gallen

Gidley
Tupou
Mason
White

I'm a Roosters fan too, but i still think they will pick Bird at 5-8 instead of lock to accommodate an extra backrower (Laffranchi), and Pearce won't be picked because he would only be picked for his combo with Anasta.

But on the plus side, i like Bob Digi too. Doo-doo-doo-doo~!

Mason can be pushed up into the front row when one of the backrowers come on.

Anasta's best position has always been lock. And he adds an extra kicking option to the team. Greg Bird doesn't have this.

Purtell has been in devastating form, and Craig Bellamy rates him very highly. he's trying to get him to replace Israel Falou.

Carney is the best option available at both halfback & 5/8 and has to be in the team.

Monaghan was the best centre on the field last night, and has surpassed Cooper.

And Wu-Tang Clan aint nuthin ta f*ck wit.

Monaghan... not in the same league as Cooper.. he can't tackle but even lawrence would be a better option!

If you speak to those in the know at the tigers .. well not those in the know but the dad of a player who happens to be recruitment manager, the Tigers have a player known as Junior Burger that is Billy Slater and Steve Turner rolled into one (despite him playing more like a cross between John Mulvihill and Gerry De La Cruz). Perhaps NSW could pick him and it would be like playing with 14. They'd create overlaps at will only for Junior Burger to trip over his own feet when confronted with thin air

Haven't watched much of Stewart lately have you?
