Your use of the words "lash out" indicates that Slater moved his leg in Klemmer's direction and made contact that way.

What actually happened was Slater jumped, never changed stance, and made contact with Klemmer.

Also, the referees erred in reversing the penalty. The rules state that a referee cannot change his decision unless he is alerted to a prior incident of foul play. Even if they thought what Slater did was deserving of a penalty, you could hardly say that it occurred prior to Klemmer making the mid-air tackle, given that it happened in the act of making it.

It was at best simultaneous, which means they cannot reverse the decision of a penalty to Melbourne.

If it happened to the raiders, you would be drooling with anger.

Since when is leaping and sticking the boot out a natural motion. It's purely designed to give himself space for an easier take.

Fact 1: No tackle was made
Fact 2: Klemmer clearly pumps the breaks prior to any tackle and being kicked in the face
Fact 3: Billy kicks Klemmer in the head

bye bye billy

Are you f*cken stupid. The only time Klemmer made contact with Slater was when Slaters boot was jammed in his neck. How does that constitute Klemmer making a mid air tackle.

So where was this mid-air tackle you mentioned before?

It's not up to us to determine whether it is a natural motion or not. And last I checked, giving himself space is not against the rules.

At the end of the day, Klemmer ran underneath a player in the air. Accidents happen all the time in rugby league, this was just another of them.

Later on in the game, Slater made a diving tackle and was kicked in the head by Mitch Brown. It was purely an accident, but by your logic, Slater should have received a penalty.

The real shame about this incident is it will take focus off what was the biggest disgrace of the night, the absolutely abhorrent obstruction call against the Storm when Cooper Cronk scored.

Mate the motion is important. His intent is to use the boot to create space. The space is created by using the boot to deter the defenders from getting close enough. If he wants space, he should turn his back to the defenders.

His a cat. Always has been. He uses dirty tactics to get an advantage. This kick move is dangerous. If shoulder charges have been banned, I don't see how this is safer.

There are not enough words in the English language to describe the stupidity contained in the above statement.

Absolutely nothing wrong with it.

The vendetta people have against slater is simply embarrassing.

Smartest thing said on LU ever... I mean, someone points a knife at you...do you run in to it?

They'll just change the rules to outlaw his technique but the Dogs player only had eyes for him. I was right in lime with it. It could easily have gone the other way if he'd taken Billy mid-air.

If he's being doing it for years and has never once contacted another player with it until now, what have the referees finally caught on to?

Good lord, I didn't think anyone could say something dumber than Skeepe's statement, but there we are.

It could easily have gone the other way if he'd taken Billy mid-air.

Which is why there is a penalty when players are actually taken mid-air. It's not Slater's right to stick his boot out and take action just because a mid-air tackle might happen.
