Grade 4 reckless or careless?

If its reckless than thats about right for a jumping shoulder charge which was so high he managed to hit him with more of his elbow than shoulder.

The problem if th charge is Grade 4 that it adds more hysteria to the debate.

An over reaction to placate the doctors etc means you get ex players and fans saying the game has gone soft etc etc.

The reality is the game is physically harder and the impact collisions more brutal in legal play than at any time in the games history because of the size, training and athleticism of the players in the NRL. It is not soft at all.

Unless of course the MRC has started allowing for the reduction in grading that always seems to apply at a challenge

Hypothetically, let's say Joel Caine's mail is right and it's a grade 4 charge and he cops 4 weeks.

Anyone else think the punishment is half for the hit on Young on Saturday night and half because he's a known offender and they're trying to discourage him from doing it in future?

Grade 4 is very harsh compared to what Teo was charged with

inglis l;eft the ground. te;o was rising up and i think the shoulder hit groats head. as danish said a few posts below yours inglis was up so high it wasnt even the shoulder that made contact with the head. ironically if inglis had stayed with his feet planted he probably would have done even more damage to young as the point of the shoulder would have hit young in the head

it was a reckless attempt which ever way you look at it

Known offender? He's been charged once in his entire career.

He didn't leave the ground, his foot is firmly planted on the ground when he hits. Young is also being pulled down and to the left by Farrell while he turns into the tackle changing the point of impact. Nowhere near the Teo tackle which was head on
