How many weeks for Latrell?

Again, if he showed remorse/concern immediately after the hit, Jared probably doesn’t go to the sideline. I think he’ll meet Joey and even the team at some point in the off-season. They’ve been mates for quite a while.
The lack of remorse from LM even after seeing Manu's face blew up greatly contributed to the lack of empathy from general footy fans.

I'm just responding to someone claiming "he didn't even try to apologise"

Now he's stupid for trying to apologise
It sounds like my kids when I ask them to apologise.
‘Hey mate, did you apologise to your sister for pulling her hair?’
‘I was going to, but then I started playing on the iPad’.

It is laughable how they are now trying to put some heat on JWH. Latrell should just thank his lucky stars they are all up in Qld as the Eastern beaches wouldn't be a safe place for him to be.

Why not just blame the bloke who did it....thats right we will give him a soft suspension whilst media commentators defend his actions. All the while Manu is in hospital drinking through a straw after what was probably the worst head shot in the last 20 years.

Give yourself an uppercut, you might be lucky enough to get a bed next to Joey

So I assume there could be the situation were Souths might play Easts in this finals series, or we'll be eagerly waiting for next years draw.

I think Bunniesman is a troll but there is no doubt the injury plays a role in the punishment, if Manu gets up and doesn't walk over to Latrell to have a discussion about it then it's probably play on and put on report several plays after the fact.

Ramien got Herbie Farnworth across the jaw with a clenched fist in the Brisbane game, it wasn't even a penalty on the night. He got put on report (several plays later) and got away with a fine.

Depending how many games Souths play of course but don’t be surprised if our game gets pushed back to a date after Latrell’s suspension is served. Then watch the NRL get all moral and come down hard on the inevitable shenanigans

Or "re-compensate" Easts by matching them up before he comes back.

But for mine, it was a very gutless and callous act, and there should have been a much heavier penalty. Won't be surprised if the NRL sort out these pithy penalties for acts like this.

Definitely the injury plays a role in the punishment. But there were really no other contributing factors; no real falling etc. So the injury is really all on Mitchell’s actions and his deliberate/reckless actions.

I like one referee on the field, but they are going to miss stuff; not a Klein apologist but I didn’t initially see the Mitchell tackle and initially go ‘wow that is ugly’. The infield need help from the bunker, and it is the bunker that is failing at the moment.

You are delusional. the only reason its play on if Joey doesn't walk over is due to the incompetence of the officials. Its a send off every day of the week.

Of course the injury should play a part. He has three plates in his cheekbone....kind of explains the force of the head shot. It was reckless and he is damn lucky not to get 12 weeks

I doubt the TV networks would let that happen

Don’t trial games count towards suspensions anyway?

souths will play a minimum of 3 more games this year, take out two trials and the all stars game, and Grubby tubby will be available for round 1.

A suspension for this hit should be how many weeks Manu is unable to play/train. Obviously the off season skewers things if if it’s reckless or intentional the suspension should match the recovery time.

easts get no benefit from the LM suspension, it’s whoever plays Souths for the next 6 weeks get the benefit
