How much of this are we prepared to take?

Man, I checked out the board the other day to see who was on it. How the f did the Burgess guy get on it? When I met him 20 years ago he seemed like a geriatric rocknroller clinging to any type of notoriety he could muster. I remember he introduced himself as saying he played in masters apprentices. He played with them for like 3 months when they were past their prime and breaking up.

How does a talentless never has been David Bowie cosplaying mullet wearing hack like that get onto our board and we seriously ask why things aren't going well?

Unless we see the agenda and who moved and voted for what, it’s hard to know who is ok.

But collectively and together, they are incompetent, unaccountable and wholly unfit to govern a football club.

Spear tackling the whole club into oblivion.

Burgess can go back to busking.

The sign saying Benji won a premiership at the dragons and the bizarre social media posts that seemed to be written by people clueless about rugby league makes me wonder if this club is just some strange money laundering/tax front at this point
And the yank soldiers on the Anzac jersey! Lol, could not make this shit up! A complete cluster f**k on the field, off the field, and in all aspects of everything else! Put a fork in these merkins so I can follow someone else

The romantic idea of bringing in the likes of Sheens, Farah and Benji over just about any other suitable candidate was a decision void of due diligence.

It shows how disconnected the administration is from the actuality of the situation. It's not like the team was coming off the back of steady seasons and a risk could be taken. This is a club that has taken a mortgage on the lower eight positions. They've gambled and lost.

The sad part of this is that anyone on the outside can see it, despite General Lee's assertion that even a director within the greater business has no foundation to form an opinion on the club or its representatives. If that is not an alarm bell, I don't know how else any takeover, criticism or change gain momentum.

The arrogance from this lot is shocking.

The NRL attempted to steady the ship with Marina Go but we know how that panned out.

If the team is 0-10 or worse, at what point would the NRL heads look at the club closely and raise serious concerns or possibly force their hand? After all, the NRL is a sports entertainment business and dysfunctional administrations with poor on field performances and an alienated fan base does not equate to viewership, membership or sustained marketability.

I'd love to see fans not turn up to games or any other sort of very public statement but look at who you're dealing with? These muppets are in their own circle jerk and don't give two shits.

You're right. The current board doesn't give a shit but it's pretty clear that the NRL doesn’t give a shit either as long as Wests Tigers field a team each week to help meet the broadcast obligations.

Membership should entitle you to stand for the board and vote on every director position. Having independent directors is pointless given Wests Ashfield controls everything. They were useless before too given Marina Go started this entire mess in the first place by punting Mick Potter, but now Lee is going to say whatever the Wests Ashfield directors want him to say, because he's appointed by them, just as Pascoe is employed by them.

If members could stand and vote for all board positions, then they could impose some accountability in this joint but I can't see a change like that happening unless there is a sustained campaign from grass roots fans to demand that right. Fans are going to have to turn up to games with “Give us our club back!” banners, hand out flyers describing the issues and what we want done and how people can help. Have a website to issue press releases from, setup an unincorporated association and sign up members, so the campaign can demonstrate how much support it has in numbers...

TBH, I'm not even sure the NRL would step in, even if that did happen.

So apparently our ANZAC commemorative jersey has US soldiers printed on it. That’ll do me…
That's just so f**ked isn't it.

But they have stated:
“Wests Tigers has collaborated with Holsworthy Army Barracks, who have sighted and approved all collateral relating to the release of this jersey,” it read.

“The soldiers on the jersey simply depict the modern-day soldier serving in a desert environment.

This is the one I find crazy.a jersey to honour the soldiers with the wrong ones on it .The board can dodge many things but this would have had to be approved by them

Plus the NRL approved it, apparently.

So someone noticed it, they noticed that it was not a WW1 Australian or New Zealander soldier depicted but in fact a stock standard image available over web thingy.

Remember ANZAC Day is and has been a day of 'celebration' of all people who have fought in major conflicts since WWI. We now openly invite many servicemen to participate on ANZAC Day, not just 'Anzac's ' and not just where Australians were or have been major participants. I for one do not believe it is that great a deal.

What it takes is a wannabe Ray Hadley shock jock in Mark Levy to call for heads to roll. This 30 something with all of life's experience just loves to get on his high horse and knock, when he can just to enhance ratings.

Did he in turn get stuck into those who collaborated from Holsworthy Army Barracks, who sighted and approved all collateral relating to the release of the jersey?
Did he in turn get stuck into those within NRL Licensing who approved the final design?

When a club is at rock bottom, it can only go up.

I agree with you here.

I think we need to face the fact that we have been and will continue to be the punching bag of the media until we improve the football department of our club. If Easts made that f**k up, I guarantee you they would not get the bad press that we are having. When it rains, it pours!

Im going to give the Tigers some of the blame here. To me though, the blame should be shared from two other parties in the NRL and Holsworthy Army Barracks for failing to identify those pictures in their checks and balances. Tigers are in a shit position though as it would be a horrible look for them to point the finger at the army.

It is an error but an honest error made by a lot of parties, not just the Wests Tigers. I will cut them some slack here.

If they hadn’t have said anything I wouldn’t have known nor cared really, it was a soldier and I understood the meaning.

It’s an grave insult to our defence personnel past and present.

Australian troops have a very strong tradition of independence and individuality.

As do our New Zealand cousins.

I think the ANZAC jersey furore is a media beatup and unfair to pin solely on the Tigers.
Those evil merkins at News Ltd have had it in for the Tigers since day 1 and will find any way to create mud to sling. They want the Tigers to fail, they want them to fold so they can force the NRL into giving a licence to Perth or somewhere else so they can get their filthy claws into another market, using the NRL as the trojan horse.
Shame on you News Ltd.

Due to the fact that part of the error comes from the Army which approved the photos, I really don't think it should be taken as an insult. Wests Tigers did try to follow a respectful process by consulting with the army in regard to the jerseys. They are not military experts, therefore consulted the people who are.

An error yes.....and error born from disrespect? no.
