At Brisbane there's no way Hunt squeezes out Reynolds or Mam... so despite all his whinging and protestations about the number 9 that's exactly what he'll be wearing. With some of the big money players on that Broncos roster (Haas, Carrigan, Walsh and Reynolds) it's difficult to see how they afford Hunt without some serious shedding

Gold Coast have Foran, Boyd and Sexton all signed up to the end of 24... I doubt any club (even ours) would agree to take on an injury ravaged Kieren Foran so if they sign Hunt they're going to have two 33 year olds in the halves. Yikes. I have questioned the capacity of some of our BOD, management and recruitment personnel, like many others here on the forum.Other teams just seem to identify and sign up good players. For some reason we haven’t for many years. Our 2018 team was the last good team we put on the park.

Like it or not, Ben Hunt is probably sick of carrying an ordinary team week in and week out. Most of our team are trying hard. Players I believe are simply ordinary like Blocker, Lomax ( examples of players continued to be signed over many seasons) give their all but can not rise further, other than a rare flash of great play. Haven’t seen a junior excelling for years. Of the current crop Sullivan definitely on the upwards but Amone and Sloan I question.

Lets see what may eventuate with Ben Hunt in the short term. Boy , Flano has a massive task ahead.

If Ben is sick and tired of carrying an ordinary team, and the last good team we had was 2018, then why did he sign a new contract about 8 months ago?

Hunt has made ordinary calls in his career, both for himself and for the clubs/teams he has played for. His leadership has generally been feeble and without effect and this is yet another weak call. If he did actually give Flanagan any assurances before Flanagan signed up, then this is close to untenable.

I doubt those assurances were given to the extent reported, at least I hope not- just for the benefit of the doubt for Hunt's character.

We will move on successfully without him.

Hey Guys I know everyone has the shit with Hunt, he won’t be playing against the warriors, possibly won’t play again for us that’s fine. I feel sorry for Ryan Carr he has enough shit to deal let alone this BS from Hunt. Also the players more shit to deal with. I hope Shane sticks it to Hunt big time, knowing Shane he will, Shane signed his extension for 2 years. Hopefully sanity will prevail. I will be glad this shit show is done in 2023 and look forward to 2024.

From everything ive read so far, most of his problem is with the board and the running of the club. As far as he goes, to me now he is a zero and i never want to hear about him again. However if he ever plays at Kogarah against us, i wouldnt let up all match. And im sure all Dragons supporters will do the same.
But onto the main problem- we knew we had a board problem getting a new coach and it finally settled. However when our best player and captain wants to go because of the board, then surely finally someone on the board has to step up and start a board replacement. This surely now cant be allowed to continue. If ever there was a sign that our club is stuffed- this is it. We need a complete new board and now

Personally I think he owes St George and he should stay, but do you really want a player that doesn't want to be there. As for Challenge it's a joke with Willow haven't seen Superman 2 ?

If all this is true it’s going to be untenable to continue. However I hope the Dragons management realise they hold all of the cards here. Release him on their terms - and make them as harsh as hell. Transfer fees, not allowed to sign for more money elsewhere, restrict him from playing against us and whatever else they can wangle to let the guy who dropped the 2015 GF cry off into the sunset.
Then go buy some hard nut quality forwards, put some nibbles in for another half to accompany Sullivan. Maybe Flanno can polish the turds that are Brooks or even his own son……
In my mind this is one of the greatest betrayals of the Dragons jersey I can remember.
