Hunt can go to the Titans.

They can provide us Brimson & Tino in return.

A fair trade in terms of $$, talent & captaincy.
Very hard to get Tino. His roots are now on the GC and that's where his priorities lie. More likely to go to Redcliffe.

What an absolute princess

A shiny jetski convinced him to sign with the club
He gets his favourite old mate in the coach the team to horrendous results
He tells the coach he wants to extend his career and thus refuses to player hooker - the young halves can bide their time
The club gives him some old Brisbane playmates to hang around him
He makes the new coach pinkie-promise that he'll always wear the number 7 jumper
And still asks for a release?

He is desperate to leave, even willing to pay some of his own money (Based on reports) which im sure he has plenty to spare. I think we play hardball for the remainder of the year and let him go at the end of the season. If we get the spoon, the captain of the club gets the spoon aswell. Its not fair to his teamates and us fans if he can avoid any responsibility for our decline. What a coward.

I forgot to add something...

As a a supposed "halfback" he was so mentally fragile in big moments that he hadn't kicked a single field goal in the NRL until 2019 - his tenth full year in first grade. (That game was a 22-9 loss btw, and he hasn't kicked another since)

Correct me if I’m wrong.

Club captains having a gut full of our hopeless Board & then going!

Garth Widdop our captain leaves to sign with Super league
Cameron McInnes, our best player & captain leaves to sign with Cronulla. We bought McCullough to replace him. I cannot still get my head around that one.
Ben Hunt, our best player, wants a release & is happy to chip in the transfer to get out.

There is a common trend that this club has turned into a basket case. Saying that, no one is bigger than the club. I hope Hunt stays but we have Sullivan in the wings who I think will be a star for years to come.

I say let Hunt go & use the money for some forwards with mongrel & second phase play for our backs.

Flanagan is the best coach we have signed since Bennett. I’m happy that Ryles has not been signed. Unproven as a first-grade coach. Look at Ciraldo, not exactly having the results that Gould would like & getting hammered consistently.

Let’s hope Flanagan can attract some quality players.

Up the Saints!

A question I need to ask is why bud he so determined to go that he’s willing to pay himself. He obviously has a club ready and waiting and I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a 4 month deal at roosters and go from there m. Cause if he thinks he is going to win a comp at titans or dogs. Tell him he is dreaming. Why sign a contract 6 months ago when we almost lost Bud and knowing full well hook was in the hook if results didn’t pan out. I think he blames the players in part thinking they played a part in hooks demise. Like seriously he is holding us to ransom that he doesn’t want to return to the gong. Disgraceful attitude for a bloke we paid well and we copped it deluxe about his excessive salary yet the club pandered to his every need.

So he didn't have such grave concerns about the management of the club a month ago when we were running last but he does now.

Seems the only thing that's changed is that Ben is now expected to be part of a team and he clearly thinks he's above that.

I believe that Ben Hunt is a fabulous class player. The only one in our current team.

Many comments on the Hunt situation are driven by our disappointment that this has arisen after signing an experienced premiership winning coach for the next 3 years.

I have questioned the capacity of some of our BOD, management and recruitment personnel, like many others here on the forum.Other teams just seem to identify and sign up good players. For some reason we haven’t for many years. Our 2018 team was the last good team we put on the park.

Like it or not, Ben Hunt is probably sick of carrying an ordinary team week in and week out. Most of our team are trying hard. Players I believe are simply ordinary like Blocker, Lomax ( examples of players continued to be signed over many seasons) give their all but can not rise further, other than a rare flash of great play. Haven’t seen a junior excelling for years. Of the current crop Sullivan definitely on the upwards but Amone and Sloan I question.

Lets see what may eventuate with Ben Hunt in the short term. Boy , Flano has a massive task ahead.

Dragons need to Stick Solid and not budge, DO NOT RELEASE HIM, as if the Rorters or any other scum club won't pay him, his money back.
I am happy to buy him a beer watching the game from the Grandstands.
We need to get compensation, from this thief.

If all this is true it’s going to be untenable to continue. However I hope the Dragons management realise they hold all of the cards here. Release him on their terms - and make them as harsh as hell. Transfer fees, not allowed to sign for more money elsewhere, restrict him from playing against us and whatever else they can wangle to let the guy who dropped the 2015 GF cry off into the sunset.
Then go buy some hard nut quality forwards, put some nibbles in for another half to accompany Sullivan. Maybe Flanno can polish the turds that are Brooks or even his own son……
In my mind this is one of the greatest betrayals of the Dragons jersey I can remember.
