How does a player pull out mid-season if an offer hasn't been made by a rival club.

By all accounts from his team mates, Ben is very tight with his money.
I think its time for the NRL to look into this and back up there rules with some enforcement...there must have been some serious in depth discussions from either the Titans, Chooks, or Bulldogs.
NRL HQ have been too quiet over these types of occurences.

Some NRL support from the NRL in the form of extra cap allowance to enable the Dragons to sit him out for 2 years would also get the message across.
I would do anything possible to stop him playing elsewhere as all his excuses are bogus....successful club, moving back home, tired of a rebuilding roster, ...all crap.

Only solution is to fine the salary cap cheats and get the to fork out Hunts salary for the next 2 years at Saints. Saints get Hunts salary put back on their cap. Let's see how they feel knocking on players on contracts then. Titans can also pay some of that as well. They can pay 30% seeing they came late to the party and the Dogs 70%.

I just don't understand the timing and cannot imagine how Flanno must feel. Why would he want Ben at Saints if a week or 2 ago he had a chat to him and was sure he would stay only to cop this a week after he signed. If I were Flanno I would be livid. Why try to convince him to stay? He has had it all his way with Hook and his mates for 2.5 years and it has been diabolical. Not just bad but an absolute disaster. Now a proper coach is in place and he wants out?

Ryan Carr should just blood the Sloan, Amone, Sullivan and Liddle spine for the rest of the season. It will eventually click if not get some experience under it's belt. I have a feeling with Hunt gone, the pressure valve will be released and these boys will run more freely and not have the fear of being dropped.
