I know its cool to not like Lyon, but i reckon he was a big part in getting us home ... i happened to wake up and watch it - the 4 he hit over mid on when it was still about 17 to get released alot of tension and i reckon england sank a bit

I was in bed listening to the radio coverage on my phone.
I agree. That shot was massive in the grand scheme of things.
And I actually disagree with all the Lyon hate from people. It's actually not cool.
He is so intense and passionate about his cricket for Oz, and those that think he is over-rated make that opinion from a personal dislike of him. Almost 500 test wickets don't come from a mug of a bowler.

Nathan Lyon is a quality cricketer.

What happened to that other finger spinner we blooded recently? He looked the goods.

he's OK if we are playing on a turner luke India but not in Pommieland

Harry Potter look a like, Tod Murphy

I think we've persevered with Lyon for so long that we've actually made a decent finger spinner out of him because he was very average, or below average in his first 7 or 8 years. His repetitive bowling with no variation cost us test matches when he should have been bowling us to victory on the last day of a test match; that's what he was selected for but on so many occasions only took 1 or no wickets, particularly in Australia on the last day

How funny was Botham v Chappell? Both of them come across as absolute f**kwits but pretty quick with some funny sledges
