I would have included the coach as part of the leadership group. I reckon he was in on it.........he's bald.
Possibly. Though the more I think about the plan the more idiotic it seems. You'd hope only a few were aware cos otherwise it seems like we've got a team full of dummies.

Well I know I’ll vote for whoever punishes Smith, Warner and Bancroft with carstration so their offspring can never embarrass our nation as bad as these merkins

FFS merkins saying that they can’t ever watch cricket again. Smith should get 12 months minimum.

Perspective. In a 30 sec convo a bunch of cricketers who were feeling the stress of a toxic tour, said that they might try and rough the ball up a bit. Yes stupid.

However this is not Russians passing pee through secret holes in walls to avoid drug tests.

Compare what Smith Warner etc did to what Camillions does every match with his ankle lifting, ball pulling, tackle flopping, play the ball delay tactics and his ref jedi.

Compare the attempts of roughing the ball to soccer merkins pathetically tripping over air in the penalty box. They do it every match in every country.

So yes let’s talk about what “the spirit of the game” means, but please keep this rule breach in perspective.

some people like to be outraged especially the media as it helps their cause

listening to Sky this morning they are reporting severe sanctions are being handed out by CA, yet when you read Sutherlands statement, it just says sanctions, its almost like its their job to speculate

Many of the media are outraged that Sutherland held a presser and did not hand down his sanctions. How dare the ACB take more than 10 mins to gather facts and carefully consider sanctions beyond what the ICC have already handed down, if any.

A lot of the media are already reporting 12 month sanctions yet it hasn't been decided yet, another example of speculation

then another media outlet picks it up and say "it has been reported......................... balh blah"

He doesn't like the 'c' word, because that's exactly what he did at Carlton in the 90s.

Then we hire a coach who returns to the dressing room after being dismissed by Sri Lanka any yells 'black merkins'.

One reaps what one sows.

The cricket team contains a few arrogant petulant merkins that arent likeable at all. They also play a brand of cricket that some long time fans of the game dislike.

Not surprising that they are coping a reaming after they f**ked up. Particularly given the hypocrisy that has been uncovered.

Is it unfair? Probably. But to be honest if it ensures that CA wipes the slate clean, improves the culture and attitude of the team and in the long term develop something that all Australians can be proud of then I support it.

Pretty weak that the coach keeps his job. I don't believe that he didn't know, and even if you accept that he didn't, what does it say about his tenure as coach that thus kind of culture has been allowed to happen?

Lehmann had to go.

He is not absolutely safe yet. They are conducting an independent review of the culture of the team. One would think his private and public behaviour might figure heavily in that.

He’ll be gone soon. Warner will never play for Australia again. Smith will be back before the end of the year.

Hasn't Warner come out of all this looking like an absolute tosser?

Up til now he was just an abrasive dude people were divided over. Now he looks like a scheming manipulative merkin who's tried to dump others in his mess....

I agree, although these in house investigations can be a waste of time and money as they may tell us what we already know.

I dont think Boof will be coach next summer, I just hope the garden gnome doesn't get the job or WA will be representing Australia, big fan of Dizzy myself,
