And how much are said flights? Probably about 1/3 of the price to townsville return.

Any excuse'll do eh? No excuse from a Manly fan is valid but people will think up any excuse they can for NQ fans. Fact is, unless the game is on a Saturday night in Townsville, their fans won't go.

Yeah, Bulldogs didn't deserve the 2004 GF as they still had members of their illegally assembled squad, but they're clean now.

Storm still have 15 members of their illegally assembled squad on the books, and shouldn't be allowed a shot at the grand final just yet.

The 2 best teams (even though Storm is the best) made the GF.There will be enough Storm and bulldog supporters at the game so we don`t care if no other team supporters go.
If anybody thinks that their teams aren`t cheating the salary cap then you believe in fairies,Father Xmas and Easter Bunny.

With the new finals system, will this be the future of each season? 1st vs 2nd in the GF.

It's the AFL model and no one outside the top 4 has ever gone on to win the premiership there. It's fine that the 2 best teams all season meet in the GF but I think the McIntyre system could throw up some surprises. In this finals series, so far all the home teams have won (technically still true tho Souths home is ANZ stadium too). So i guess the dogs will win next week too.

It's actually the ARL model. ARL used it first and AFL had the McIntyre, we swapped for some time, and now both use the same top 8 system.

Not only is it not the AFL model but when used previously in RL it produced 1v6 and 1v7 grand finals with one of those being an upset. So if you want to point at how it works in a completely different... um... "sport", why not look at how it actually worked in, you know, this sport.

Two years after cheating the cap the Dogs won a Premiership.

Two years after cheating the cap the Storm are in line to win a Premiership.

Geez other teams must really be shaking in their boots if they're thinking about circumventing the cap.....

It doesn't matter what system the nrl uses. If you were the best team in the league you would make it to the grand final no matter what place you finish and bulldogs Arnt cheats, they don't make the calls or penalties, neither do manly. The referees make the calls. If anything people should think the refs need better eyes. The only way a team can cheat is if they breach the salary caP to get a better squad. On the field not one team can cheat, the refs will do their best to find errors from a team and penalize them for it.

This grand-final is the best result possible. The two best teams clashing on the big day.

So much better than watching last year when an average team that strung a few good weeks of form together at the right end of the season got there then got massively outclassed accordingly.
