About 20 years for me.

I feel sorry for my Grandfather. He watched the sharks play their first ever game (up at sutho) and will most likely depart this world having never seen a premiership. I get the feeling that in fifty years time i'll be in the same boat.

I was there zepp. Aged 6. We played the Eels and beat them. Not that I remember much of the footy side of things but that was the day I got the addiction.

Opiate dependant people can get Methadone or Naltrexone or Bupe.
Smokers can get patches or gum or sprays.
Alcohol dependants can use Campral or antabuse

What can I, as a hopeless Shark addict use?

A noose?

I used to go to the old Sutho Oval (Our original home ground) next to the cemetary. Didn't think 40 years on we still would be premiership virgins though. Turned 50 about a month ago. Saw Sludge throughout his career.......it was worth the admission price to watch Tommy Bishop and Sludge weave their magic...... Oh, those were the days......Think I need a drink

Since 1976, got jersey xmas 75, it was a sharks jerseys from my parents who both support souths.

So my suffering began then, i have always been won to live for the sharks so through school, would cop plenty.

Living at the time in parramatta district, my 4 years in high school corrsopended with eels wnning in 1981, so 4 years felt like 40.

In brisbane since 2001, and you think its tough in parra this is worse, most biased 1 eyed, not just supporters by media, there is, and i again cop it for supporting the sharks.

The one good thing, is that i have given brisbane that they have never won a comp, since i have lived here

Oh me oh my -- I walked up the gangplank of the good ship Endeavour on its maiden voyage. - Ive been onboard since day 001. was a snotty nosed brat at the sports ground when we did Easts, also made a season of treks from sutho station past the cementary and down to sutho oval.

Quick nurse another pill - under the tongue - yes thats it - tah - just felt a turn coming on .....

Yes that all happend 40 years ago and Ive still stuck with em...

Was at Endeavour Oval when we ran onto "Our Own" oval for the very first time.

Dreaded Quigs with 73 and 67 jersey both autographed by Sir Thomas Bishop

Ive been on the receiving end of blatant corruption (hey Hollywood), been publicly ridiculed for my support of a declared rugby league terrorist cell. But the Cell over the years has been known to lack braincells, especially recently.

I currently drive a fully customized 1971 Toyota (Park) Corona Sharkmobile as my preferred means of transportation. Its areodynamically designed. I was going to call it the Alberts, but it is not farked and still goes forward.

I am now a member of the religious society known as the Endeavourites... or the Church of the later day Sharks.... as you can see our "Jesus" wears conventional clothing typifying the diciples of the Shire.

My friends and family have tried over the past decades to 'convert' me back to mainstream populists thinking - but I wont and can't be swayed.

For forty years I have put up with the Sharks and the above information and details will show one and all that such support has not effected my mental stability or common sense in the slightest degree.

When my loyalty is questioned I just point to our trophy cabinet and say
"it is written in the hidden scrolls buried deep in the sands of Kurnell"

We've got the Amco Cup, We've got the Endeavour Cup and don't forget

There is always next year.....

Nurse - I am pressing this farkcan buzzer button and she wont come -- come on f**k yuh - I need another pill - there is a tingling in my limbs....

YEP FORTY FARCAN YEARS AND I'M ALRIGHT...

Cheers

33 bloody losing years.

The worst part is everyone i know, they all know I'm a Sharks man, so I've had plenty of bad jokes over the years aimed at Sharkies fans. I actually found out one of my fav customers is a sharks supporter recently, unfortunately she is a BK fan.

get over it

I was 11 then , turned 12 in March.

Were you the little pounce that I pushed over on the way to snaffle the corner post.

Only to be gathered up by a bigger older more aggressive kid.

Arrh the corner post foodchain... it was a battle kiddies. Luckily for us we didnt have earth shattering crowds back in our first year because all the grovellers were riding the Stain George bandwagon... because they were going to win their twelth straight....

Nah Nah Nah Nah....

You wore you heart on your sleeve back then if you admitted you were a Sharks man....

Maybe we should take a few home games back to the cemetry. Fugg going to the CC or Perth or wherever else.

Lets get back up on the concrete surface of Sutho Oval and start getting this side toughened up.

Would probably suit us to play there as our chances of winning the comp this year are dead and buried

The will be conditions on the return to sutherland oval.

If we do go back to Sutho then I baggs changing the numbers on the scoreboard. And my gang has the dibs on who gets to crawl under the oppositions dressing room floor. Their small change is ours.

Dad was never a big RL supporter always preferred soccer being the Mediterranean Descendant he is untill one day as a kid someone stole his bike while at soccer training at marconi club. He dropped out of soccer and turned his sights to RL so the story goes...

In RL he hated all western suburb based teams. If he ever had to have a team for some unknown reason it was Cronulla. So with that as gospel it soon became mine. He tends not be watch much RL anymore, he thinks its gone soft and isnt enjoying the way cronulla have been ravelling the past couple years, ohwell....

Great man though bought me a retro jersey the other day. I put myself in the 10-19 category. But i dont think it really matters how long each one of us have been supporting a team so yeh...

25 - 30 years

I remember being in infants school and painting pictures of the team when the played in 78 gf and hanging them all over the classroom. I never forgot when they lost, old man couldnt believe it, i now can still hear the beer can being kicked off the verandah and into the backyard with disgust.

Then again there have been the 80s minor premiership, 1999, newcastle and warrirors prel.finals, oh what memories..........

Me... I grew up surrounded by the filth that is the Dragons.
Mum, Dad , most mates and neighbours.
They tried to get me to follow the filth ..there is even a photo of me on my grifter with a pair of Dragons socks on.
but..
I was a lone wolf and risk taker ....so I couldn't be told or coerced.

The day I became a shark was when I was about 8 ....I watched the GF and thought gee that jumper has a lovely colour, I'll suppport them.

A few years later my dad got me picked up from school early to introduce me to a couple of blokes that were coming into his work.

It was Kurt and Dane Sorenson...the rest is history.

who said history never repeats....fuggen same sh*t every year!
