I don't expect to cash out too often. The pokerschool thing can only be played once every two months and it's tough to get the big cash (although my 1st of 1,500 was nice, I'd be stupid to think I could do it again in a field of over 100,000). They dump the top 500 of that into a stupid premier league that is boring and a waste of time if you're not putting up 150vpp's per month. I'm not playing the premier so I can play the standard again in December. (they have relegation as well)

Back to my bitch.

I watched 2 hours of the WSOP final table today and the best hands when all the chips went in won all bar one hand. There was no hand after hand of monsters, no hand after hand of flushes, straights and sets.

I see more big hand action in 5 minutes online than I saw in two hours today.

Just to show it can happen in real life too...

Just got back from playing at my local club APL tourney, $15 buy-in/$15 add on.

Made it to the final 3 players. I was shortstacked with $38k, blinds were $2k/$4k.

Made a button raise of $10k with KJ spades, BB makes calls the extra $6k with 54 off. Flop is K/8/5 rainbow. BB checks so I shove with my remaining $28k. BB thinks for a bit and calls off half his stack with bottom pair.

Turn 7, River 6 to give him a str8.

Keep in mind you play multi tables online so its a given you will see more action in a much shorter space of time compared to live.

Ben Lamb is lucky to still be there after shoving with A7 hearts against the buttton raise of JJ and jags his flush.

Exactly online were normally playing a few tables + many more hands dealt in the same space + blinds increase heaps quicker too, so it only stands to reason we'll see heaps more action.

Also tried my system y'day 4 tabling, got through about 14 $1.50 games for a profit of $16 not much, but as long as I turn a profit more often then not am happy.

Started out with a 50 buyin buffer, for this level am aiming for a 200 buyin buffer before moving onto the $3.30 buyins. So need to turn my $85 into $660 before I do so, so a long long road!

Also want to eventually get up to stacking 8 tables at once instead of 4.

I understand that, but I meant 5 minutes of 1 table. I also watched the live action for a 2 or 3 days up to the final table and it was nothing like online action.

There seems to be a great disparity between live action and online action. Action flops are the norm online, they're not in the live action I watched. 90% of the live hands were raise, fold or raise, re-raise fold. We saw the cards and most of the time they were junk. Rarely did we see two or three people with monster starting cards. Online, if you haven't seen Aces, Kings or Queens in two or three hands you're startled.

In live poker EA you also get people more often then not folding 6-7 offsuit rather then playing it as well, don't forget people are forking out $10,000 buyins rather then the $1.10 ones so ofcourse play is gonna be tighter.

Seriously man get away from those stupid MTT's only way you'll win them is being a luckbox, because by the time you get to the final table, you'll be lucky to have 10 BB's at best. 6-9 man sng's are the way.

By the way, that was one of those qualify for the giveaway things, they're geniused but it's the only way you can qualify.

I win that hand I'm in touch with the top 20 who get tickets.

I must say I was the beneficiary of some luck today on PStars. Twice I was way behind post flop and twice I got lucky. I was the big stack both times so our theory held true.

I had AK against KK on a flop of A/K/rag. Both all in on the flop but I rivered the ace for a better full house. I sheepishly collected a nice $6 pot (not bad for a 1c/2c cash table).

I had A10 against AJ on a A/A/rag flop. Hit my 10 on the turn for another sweet pot.

A small consolation after losing potentially $400 at the club last night when my KJ got beat. I finished 3rd in the tourney & collected $100. 1st place was $500, if that hand held up I would've been about equal chip leader.

so after reading this thread i decided to put a lazy tenner back into stars for kicks

blinds were 75/150, had 750 so not much was happening for me. there's a small raise from UTG (3k chips) and I woke up with aces so decided to go all in. they turned over 66.

Here I was thinking it's an easy double up but flop goes

66x

So devastating

more bad luck

i had 14BB left...some muppet limped in UTG (with about 10BB), i see QQ and go all in and get called with J9s...

so i'm thinking my chances are alright but no, they trip up on the flop and river the full house for good measure, leaving me crushed. next hand i went all in to a raise and it was my KQ v 22. not that it matters then but they flopped a set FFS
