That looks just like a dumb play from a donk than any PStars conspiracy but I do get where you're coming from. You do see a lot of hands where the big stack gets extrememly lucky over premium hands.

I played in the same tourney as above last night and saw AA get beat by KK when the big stack rivered a set, I saw the same big stack jag a runner/runner flush over an all in QQ - that was just in the first hour.

Cash games you get a lot of premium hands clash (AAvKK, AKvAQ etc), it guarantees a big pot, thus a bigger rake, thus more profit for PStars.

There is something to it.

It's not rigged against any particular player, people who say that are borderline geniused, but after having been there, done that thousands of times I have little doubt that their software is "rigged" to thin the herd.

The problem I have with it is basically this; You're low-stacked, you pull premium starting cards, you're left with little option other than pushing, and in most cases as the low stack, you'll push all in trying to keep the callers to a minimum or even just pick up the blinds and antes.

So, you're left with two choices, either fold a premium hand when you're low-stacked or do exactly what you should do. I can honestly say my final hand in any tourney is most likely to be that scenario. I am tight-aggressive and rarely get my chips in with a hand that is behind.

Having said all that, the fact that my roll is now close to $500 from a $0 start, and that's after withdrawing a grand, I still love Pokerstars....

Agree with you about "thinning the herd" you see it just too often for it to be random.

What I said about the ring games where premium hands clash to ensure a big pot/rake - it doesn't seem to happen as much as it used to. Possibly Black Friday made PStars toe the line somewhat.

Sounds like we're similar style players - tight/aggressive. Been playing almost since PStars began. Back then during peak periods you'd be lucky to see 12,000 players logged on, now its 200,000!!

Love taking on all the hyper aggressive Russians & Germans that flood the site. Let them steal 2 or 3 of your blinds and then re-pop em. They'd then have to try & steal half a dozen more just to break even. Also love slow playing your big hands against them letting them bet themselves into deep trouble.

Started playing real money about 6 or 7 years ago. Bought in with $50 and have never had to re-buy. Cashed out $500.00 back when the A$ was still strong and have turned the remaining $100 I left myself back into $450.00 just playing micro cash games and the rare tourney.

Yeah, the US dollar is pissweak at the moment, still, I can't complain. Pulled out over a grand. I've been playing cash since I won $5 in a freeroll satellite in 2007.

I was playing strictly SnG and tourneys, mainly 25 cent 90's, I've ditched them now and am playing the $1 Sng's and $1 and $2 tourneys. Won big in the pokerschool monthly pointscore. Tough to play, 6 tourneys a day (I played 4) but big fields full of pissweak players. Money at the end is worth it if you have the patience and time.

I hope you're not that merkin I abused the other day for calling 1/3 of his chips pre-flop with rag ace then beat my AA with it when he rivered the flush. Dobbed me in too, got my first chat ban... lol
