I only watch Australia v India games in India - so have never seen the Indian pace bowling attackIndia's pace bowling is at a level I've never seen from them and is easily the best at this cup. Throw in their usual strong batting and they are going to be tough to beat
Yeah i think we will come 3rd now and likely play South Africa in the semis.still looking like India V RSA final
We'll probably beat India in the semis, then lose the final - this is the wayYeah i think we will come 3rd now and likely play South Africa in the semis.
If Patty wins the toss and bats first i give us a good chance.
Bison said he will back so i assume he and Maxi should be right for the semis.
South Africa are still wobbly when chasing and the mental baggage/trauma of previous World Cup Semi Finals would no doubt be ringing in there ears.
But we wont be beating India in the final if we make it - Unless someone goes ballistic and we can score 370/380. Though most Indian matches have had more in it for the bowlers. They leave the highways for the Neutral matches.
But da dewGee there have been some good tosses to lose in this tournament.
South Africa have been gifted 4 of them.
8 x 100+ Run wins and throw in another one that was 99 runs.
Captain stupidity at its finest.

Yeah if Smudge was allowed to play 200 tests he would have smashed the total runs records and that.Tendulkar being the best since Bradman is so 1990s.
His real legacy is that he was the first Indian cricket superstar that helped lift the game in that country as very popular but not very financially succesful to the dominant financial and political player it is today.
As a player he has been overtaken although his longevity means that there are records of his, particularly in the test arena that probably will never be broken.

Tendulkar actually had a better overall average away then at home.
His record was strong everywhere.
I still remember Steve Waugh's last test.
It was the 1st test i ever attended with my Dad and younger Brother sitting up in the old Dougie Walters stand in days 1 & 2 in like 40 degree heat getting sunburnt while watch him basically get 240 not out and India bat us out of the game scoring 700.
Another toss win, another bowl first decision and another hiding. Ho hum!!
Gilchrist should have been promoted up the order to play ODI cricket to try and chase down the total. We went down swinging at least. He did run out old mate Damien Martyn but he gets a pass for his last game. His 80 odd was a fighting knock. If Gilchrist had got going then we would have had a real stab at victory.
No Warne or McGrath from memory. We had Brad Williams in the attack during that series. But we got them on the return tour to India which was magical.

Hiding him at 7 that day was a waste. I would have opened him with Haydos and pissed Langer off to 5 or 6. To try and run down the total.
We had enough defenders in Katich, Martyn, Waugh that could have saved the game anyway.
The bigger the occasions the better Gilly played. He had test series to forget with the bat. Couple starts. Our top order were pretty good so he didn't have big opportunities.
Just reading now in the MCG test he was moved up to bat at 4 in the first innings so he had done it once already:

I heard him say numerous times he hated coming out to bat at 5/500 because he felt he had nothing to gain. And would play recklessly for the sake of it and get out.
Compared to say coming in at 5/100 is where he did his best work.
I reckon he only needed to survive 10 overs and have India on the backfoot on that final day of the run-chase at least was worth the gamble. We had to try and win the game from memory as it was a drawn series and India retained the trophy.
