How Stoinplod just plodded his way back into the side is just laughable.

We have 3 specialist batsman in the top 7, 3 are all rounders who are as flaky AF and Inglis has played barely any international cricket. How did it get to this in time for a WC??? The planning for this campaign has been absolutely laughable. Bald shiny heads must roll.

But the biggest issue is that Cricket Australia doesn't value 50 over cricket. They've put all their effort into the Big Bash which has produced basically no players of note in the last 10 years.
You could argue England have produced more players from the BBL then Australian players.

Liam Livingstone, Jofra Archer, Jason Roy are examples of nobodies when they joined the BBL. Went on to play for England after the BBL success.

There is probably a few more in there. Just dead set embarrassing.

Our cricket group chats are going off this morning.

I don't think it helps that we prioritise the Big Bash domestically but then pick a diet ODI side for international T20 games, either.

Guys like Dan Sams, Tim David, and loads of others would have been playing international T20 regularly with England as specialists and from there the ODI side is open to players that perform. We just pick the same mob for everything

Australia neglects the BBL by playing it concurrently with the test summer. This gives it great ratings, but means the best players are not available and the quality suffers.

Compare to South Africa, who basically couldn't have given less of a shit about the test matches last summer as they were focused on their new T20 league. They look to be one of the favourites now, and if they go on to win they will be justified in their approach.

2 highly questionable decisions didn't help but no excuses.

Looked a different wicket under lights. Warner and Marsh needed to be more patient. Our middle order looks very vulnerable.

We were too slow between the ears with our bowling. Poor batting and even worse fielding. That was a shithouse performance.

If CA isn't careful it could end up down the path of Rugby in 10-15 years.

I don't think it will happen we have to many greats and history to let it slide to that level.

But the arrogant muppets running CA don't do themselves any favours.

I am sure at the yearly review they will pat themselves on the back we won the WTC, retained the ashes.

But really retaining the ashes is a mediocre pass mark.

And the ODI WC flop basically makes the WTC final success redundant.

Plus we lost in India again and butchered a test match there.

There are too many here from the sub continent to lose the sport that much, They now play 365 days a year.

We won't lose a test here that will keep interest up from the general public

I reckon most would guess whose ODI Record this is with the Bat.

The fact we have never won an ODI after he has scored a 50 says a lot.

Reinforces the time he did score runs it was irrelevant.

I think we are forfeiting against them ain't we.

We took a moral stance a few years back when it suited us to refuse to play them in a test match.

Why wouldn't we do the same thing in a world cup game.

Or it doesn't suit CA's agenda now all of sudden.

They should have been barred from the cup, sad but true. But India doesn't care about small things like basic human rights
