If Cronk joins the Roosters, the 2018 competition is over before it starts

It’s more I don’t rate the Roosters players, especially the backs and bench.

Tupou - past it
Mitchell - overrated, has potential to be good but has done nothing yet
Manu - quality but is most likely to miss out in favour of Gordon
Gordon - a goal kicker nothing more
Ferguson - can be good at times but is a dickhead
Napa - can put on a big hit but that’s all his known for
JWH - a shadow of his former self
Cordner - a good player
Aubusson - ok but nothing to brag about
Liu - same as Aubusson
SST - same as Aubusson, Liu
And the rest are not even worth mentioning

what a poor judge of player quality!

Yep, certainly is this year!

A couple million dollar players added to the squad does not hurt hey.

Better result than the Bronco's coach with his lot of million dollar players.

His crabbing sideways to escape Latrell stats are elite.
To be fair, Chambers has always been pretty bloody average. That sideways crabbing and kicking for himself when he gets boxed in was evident in his first stint in RL and at Melbourne. When he wasn’t tripping over his own feet that is. He must have photos to keep his spot, that’s the only thing I can think of.

The Sydney Roosters obviously have the best team in the NRL competition. They are one of the greatest rugby league club sides ever to play the game. Only the great St George teams of the 1960s --- when there was no salary cap and St George could scoop up all the talent -- and the Eastern Suburbs team of 1974-75, can be compared to the 2018-2019 Sydney Roosters team. Melbourne have just lost their super star Billy Slater and will decline somewhat because of that. On the other hand Cronulla will be strong again, as will South Sydney, with their three English penises on display.

However long term injuries can scuttle a team's finals prospects. In 2018 a long term injury to Greg Inglis which kept him on the sidelines, and an ongoing set of injuries to Sam Burgess which hampered his form, diminished South Sydney's chances of even making the Grand Final in 2018. That is why it is imperative that a team retain a fit core of star players fit for most of their games, in order to perform to its maximum.

Therefore I will predict that if the Sydney Roosters can retain its core stars without long term injuries, it will be the first team in the history of the NRL (1998-2019) to win NRL Grand Finals back to back.

Who is on the list of core stars?

James Tedesco
Latrell Mitchell
Joseph Manu
Luke Keary
Cooper Cronk
Victor Radley
Jake Friend
Jared Waerea-Hargreaves.

Those are the 8 who must not suffer long term injuries. If that happens then the Sydney Roosters, under the coaching of the brilliant Trent Robinson, will win the 2019 Grand Final.

Can't believe you've backed up last year's bold prediction with one filled with caveats.

Shame on you @Albert Rosenfeld

It was a miracle that the Sydney Roosters could perform so well with the crippling injury to star Cooper Cronk. Otherwise the team was at full strength for the Grand Final. If they can replicate that fitness criterion in 2019, they will win again.

i disagree.

the Tricolours of 1935-1936-1937 are also capable of being compared to the current GOAT Roosters team.

Did you know that Easts were undefeated in 1936 AND 1937?? It's true. It's Damn true

It couldn't hurt the Roosters to add a couple of players like Kaylan Ponga or Jason Taumololo as back up next season. Just in case there are injuries to the core players.

Wow. A team that has no major injuries to their core roster will win the comp. Tell me oh wise one, will the sun rise in the East or the West?
