Disagree.

We lost SG Ball during COVID and there is no hint of it returning. What is excuse is there for not having it this season just commenced? The word from within the NRL (whilst we had SG Ball) was they were already considering flogging us off and getting players to do an American style combine to push talent East.

It's great that we are having regional championships at different age groups across the summer, but it hasn't stop kids doing Fusion/Pride/Dolphins etc. moving straight back to union for the winter months.

There is no continuous high performance training across the juniors at the level required to compete at HM or SG Ball level. Half the kids that were previously rocking up for Pirates trials had barely seen the inside of the gym, skills are poor and physical condition extremely sub-par.

I don't mean to be negative but we can't put our head in the sand and pretend we are ready.
God thank you. Someone being realistic.

I’m not suggesting we are ready, far from it. But nor am I suggesting we have nothing like some ill informed on here. It’s interesting with sg ball not returning this year, not seen anything put out by nrlwa as to why and I’ve asked them. It’s an expensive model and tbf the returns are questionable without somewhere for them to progress to. Maybe they decided not a great current investment just to train western force players!

So you want to copy comps where the Perth teams average under 5k ?

don’t you think it’s evidence NOT to go to Perth
No. Rugby and soccer are miles behind the NRL nationally . Your looking for reasons not to go to Perth. You don't mention teams that get good crowds like the scorchers and wildcats.

If soccer and rugby can be viable in Perth then rugby league will thrive. Better product , more money, more interest.

Im sure either sport would love to have nine strong teams in Sydney

maybe that’s what they should do to be sucessful

I’m sure if the nrl wasnt so dominant then both sports would have strong Sydney club comps

indeed the establishment of the game in Sydney crushed both of their club comps ):

I agree with that. I got no f**ken idea what it has to do with the conversation though.

That union and soccer aren’t good examples lol

they are joke sports

between the two big boys afl has more teams in capital cities but nrl has more overall reach

Again, you brought them into the discussion! So two joke sports can manage viable clubs in Perth but the NRL couldn't possibly do it?
You make no sense.

There are a few here who simply won’t agree to a club in Perth.

Like I said copying sports who are minor is a stupid thing to do

afl isn’t international that’s the relevance

they are our only real rival in Australia not those Mickey Mouse sports

and afl isn’t international

would I swap nz for Perth and Adelaide combined ? Hell no.

if it were up to me I would just ignore Perth for a good ten years and focus on real rugby league areas like Brisbane or even New Zealand which supports our game in good numbers

perth isn’t essential to rugby league growing a lot

it’s a small nieche market which will have a small club which can’t compete with the afl

Great. So you won't bring up rugby or soccer again?

Why should Perth bring away fans to Sydney games to fill out the stadium lol
this might be a relevant argument if Sydney derbies benefitted a lot from away fans but they don't.
Quite a few years ago I saw a dumb Roosters fan on The Roar say the Cowboys bring nothing to the competition because they don't have many fans in Sydney to bump up Roosters' crowds.

I honestly think NSWRL fans are the dumbest and craziest people on Earth.

The NRL should fund the Pirates on the lower grades. Any player who gets picked up by an NRL club will benefit them, so it's only fair the ARLC cover the costs.

The NRL has nine clubs in Sydney, but none of them are strong.

All nine Sydney NRL clubs make less from sponsorship and corporate hospitality than the Sydney Swans. The difference is significant too, with the Swans generating almost twice as much than any Sydney NRL club.
