Never, there’s never been a club called Perth force.

There was never a Perth reds either despite ur choice of username.

Of course, u just ignoring all the potential strengths of a Perth team were enjoyed by the force & they met same fate as the reds. Rugby is bigger in Perth too; 12k registered players which is 3 times what league boasts

I’m pretty sure mine was 95 the first game when all the super league players were out

we had pushed in line to the front and had tickets on the halfway line at the sfs so that was my karma

another famous qld win too lol

NSW between 1995 & 1996 probably our greatest team

The reality is other than afl no other football code gets sustainable crowds there

the glory get under 5k for games just as the force

even if the bears are the owners do they want to fund an albatross if things go like soccer and union

The reality is rugby had great crowds in Perth for quite some until rugby fell in a hole nationally. Rugby league will succeed in Perth because it will be professionally run and has a very solid base of support.

Stick em in and ignore all the evidence.

that’s so brave

let’s hope after ten years league ends up different and we don’t get smashed by afl

Maybe we should have a bit more confidence in our code? What’s the point in having such a great game if we just want to hide it in Sydney and Brisbane? I’ve never understood this mentality.

They changed their name to Perth Reds in 1997.

Force were cut because Super Rugby told Rugby Australia they could only have four teams. The Rebels were in a far more perilous situation yet were kept alive because they're Melbourne.

It could be argued that North Sydney Bears were a failed club with no home and a lack of success.

How can simply stating that expansion to Perth happened & failed be a troll?!
Reminds me of old saying about reality having liberal bias
Because the use of the word fail is both provocative and subjective given the circumstances of the decision not to admit the perth reds into the 1998 nrl competition.

Then To infer in the title that because the reds were closed down by a short sighted news ltd and ARL 26 years ago somehow that has any relevance to the proposition of admitting a new perth club into the nrl in 2027/2028 is pure Classic trolling.

and you know it, or you’re really stupid. which is it?

for a troll you’re not very good. What was the 1997 SL club in perth called? Go on Google it lol.

well If you want to be dumb arse about it Western Force (note the name) are the richest sports club in the country. Their owner makes more in a year than the entire nrl lol.

All I ever hear is how big the afl clubs are in wa

maybe the Person who talks this way should realise the implications of his argument lol
Even the WAFL (the WA state league Aussie Rules) comp has a reasonable following over there.

Like the SANFL here it's Aussie Rules and nothing else.

It's the offseason and still the media still talks endlessly about the AFL.

It’s the essence of illogical thought. You can’t do something because it might fail. If you logically extended that idea you may as well not do anything in life because you might fail in that particular endeavour

Nothing is certain and everything is a scale iof probability but considering every other sport seems to have a side in every Australian capital city and most of those sports don’t have anywhere near the money or support that our game has I don’t see how a Perth side or an Adelaide side etc would fail (as in fold from a future competition)

Actually the chances of any team folding now, at least in the foreseeable future, is incredibly remote

Truth shouldn't be provocative. There was a Perth team & now there isn't. Expansion team folding after 3 years in failure. Fact.
First step to addressing problem is admitting it.

1997?! Same season superleague covered flight costs?! Should've been balling that season.

Don't need twiggy, got plenty of unnamed businessmen who I'm sure are nowhere as rich (BTW, anybody have a problem with one man mostly benefiting from this country's natural resources as opposed to the country overall?)

The force were dumped not long ago & gws only exists because league is willing to foot bill

Glory and force are both in national comps, you look like a fool when you say they are not sustainable . Clearly they are.
Now if soccer and union can sustain a team in Perth why couldn't an NRL team?

The wildcats and scorchers get plenty of coverage here.
