Also put Australia on the map as far as America and England was concerned.

As big a star as he was in Australia, he never made much of an impression in either Britain or the US.

nah they dont, love to get stuck into people.

one thing that gave me the shits with frenzal is they burnt the aussie flag at homebake while on stage. wasnt to happy with that but there set was brilliant

one act i would think of getting a mention in the aussie immortals list is radio birdman. seeing those bloke 2 years ago at homebake was great. deniz tek and rob younger still have it.

There used to be a sydney band nancy vandal who were all good mates with the guys from frenzal - one of their songs was 'frenzal rhomb were better when ben was in the band'.

They'd drag lindsay (who replaced ben) up to play it with them whenever they got the chance :) ... was good to see them get a taste of their own medicine

It was a shame when they broke up actually - they were God-awful but always put on a good fun show

LOL, and on Not So Tough Now, there's the extra track "Ben Is A f**kwit"...

Johnny O'keefe gave David Campbell a reason to sing on stage in front of thousands of people in the production of Shout. Therefore i believe he has alot to answer for!!!!!

Jesus. Thanks for bringing that name up.
Just when I was starting to forget.

Actually, that Noll kiddie's a bit like Campbell isn't he? Same grating, flat voice. Same Oz posturing. Just without the pedigree.

Eh, I'm not too fussed on the token hip-hop acts in the 40s. Seems like Run DMC and Public Enemy get a run everytime one of these lists is compiled. But I suppose you can't front on either of them really.

I can't believe people on this board actuall take notice of such stupid shit from Rolling Stones, they are a magizine on a downhill spiral and the only way they can climb back up is by putting in these stupid " the 50 best " or in this case immortals

These are the only immortals i'd ever vote for

- John Lennon
- Freddie Mercury & Queen
- Don Henley & The Eagles
- Eddie Van Halen
- Led Zepplin
- Black Sabbath
- Beach Boys
- Deep Purple

These blokes done more for music then anyone, as much as i like David Bowie??....i still reckon & maintain that Sting & the Police where far superiour.

Ronnie James Dio should be included on voice alone, undisputed best voice in Rock n' roll history.....apart from Steve Pearcy from Ratt offcourse :D

Where is Queen?

:-k

I was wondering exactly the same thing. I am a big Queen fan, and was scanning the list, and was wondering where they were?

It might be to do with the fact that they never really broke it into the American market (which is what I guess influenced this list) - to my knowledge, they only ever had one US #1 - Another One Bites The Dust. But they still had a number of songs that made the Top 10.

If it was a British list, Queen would be in the Top 5, and Freddie Mercury himself (he released a bit of solo work) would be somewhere in the Top 50.

The Rolling Stone list is based on judgement from 50 judges. Give me a second and I'll dig up the names... its not really just the editor tossing up his favourites.
