I guess my point was that our staff would follow the advice of a specialist. My sarcasm got the better of me. Anyhow, good news on TMM.
Hey he wanted to credit our medical staff for the initial results being wrong and the injury being less severe than expected. Because if it couldn't be luck (and who the hell has ever said luck has zero part in injuries?) It must be our medical staff. I just went the opposite way.
Luck plays some part in injuries. But poor management of injuries, and subpar training and/or medical staff play a huge part too. Anyone thinking it doesn't is in denial. We aren't simply unlucky every single year with injuries. We make it worse on ourselves. If it were luck we would have seasons where we were healthy all year too. When was the last time that happened to us?
Whares run of injuries is a perfect example. He was poorly managed from his initial injury and as a result didn't get to play a full game all season.
Bryce Cartwright, Josh Mansour, Matt Moylan, Jamie Soward, Peter Wallace.... All examples of players who have been returned to full fitness after suffering major injuries. All treated by the same staff.
Jamie Soward missed a significant chunk of a season because they dithered on putting him in for surgery. Peter Wallace was brought back and immediately injured himself again.
we far too much of our injury issues in my opinion? Injuries happen and decisions are made on when someone is fit or otherwise to return. Sometimes it doesn't always work out but to declare our staff are incompetent is a big call and unfair.
I'm genuinely surprised there are people who think our injury staff are doing a good job. Why isn't Whare back yet?

Its amazing, Gus talks about Penrith becoming the biggest sporting team in Australia then settles for incompetence.
Players come back from injury and are immediately injured. What does that say about our "strength" and "conditioning" team?
So we are shifting responsibility onto the surgeons? It is the S &C team's job to both know when a player is good to return and to properly prepare them for it. I just can't see how the string of bad decisions and poor preparation by this team is excusable.
how can it be the fault of the S&C team if a player snaps a ligament or suffers a high ankle sprain?
Repeatedly. To us more than anyone. And in Whare's case in training.
I'll give a little more detail. Injured players coming off a rest should be ready to play. If they aren't and they get re-injured because of it, the buck stops with the S & C team. Just like it stops with them if our side is so poorly conditioned they are consistently injured at a higher rate than other teams.
Uhhh everyone of those guys outside of cartwright struggled with injuries after returning :lol:Bryce Cartwright, Josh Mansour, Matt Moylan, Jamie Soward, Peter Wallace.... All examples of players who have been returned to full fitness after suffering major injuries. All treated by the same staff.
