 yeah exactly Maloney came out and said a week before he played in a GF side for the club that the Warriors were the club he least wanted to join out of every side in the NRL.

What about Maloney? He came here purely for financial reasons. He has stated numerous times that he would have taken any other offer in Australia over ours. Now he's headed back to Aus next year, and he's in the team week in, week out.

I don't begrudge any player who goes to a team for purely financial reasons. League players only have a limited amount of time to make money, so good luck to 'em. Look how many of them end up working in the coal mines and shit after their league days are done. Even legends like Stacy Jones have to go and buy Subway franchises and do ads for finance companies.

I really don't understand why people get so uppity over this kind of stuff. There are plenty of examples of guys who come here for the money and go on to love NZ or just be great for the team. I think some people need a reason to justify Inu's waste of talent over here.

Maloney came here to stake his claim to a first grade halves spot. In fact instructed his agent to "find him a club where he would get a start"
Quite a big difference to a purely financial decision.

And yet he admitted that despite the Warriors being the only team that came calling he still wasn't particularly keen. If saying after you are not even at the club anymore that your main motivation for signing was money is terrible than I'd say saying that the Warriors was the club that you least wanted to play for in the NRL while one of the stars of the side is probably worse.....

Jimmy came to us because he was surplus to the Storm requirments and the Warriors hrew him a lifeline.

I wish all our imports played with the same loyalty as Maloney.

He leaves for family reasons (he wants to see more of them), and I wish him well.

Anyone who thinks Wiki and Pricey were past their use by is kidding themselves. Price was still a current qld and Kangaroo rep and Ruben was chrrent Kiwi skipper.

How "used by" do you want ?

Yes but what Maloney said was pre coming to the Warriors and what Inu is saying is post Warriors. It just seems very disrespectful, the thing with Inu is he probably isn't intelligent enough to realise that, Its especially lame seeing as the club basically allowed his release so he would have a contract 2013 onwards.

Wiki was way past his use by and we kept paying him overs for 4 years. He was the designated sideline cheerleader, is it really a coincidence he retired when Packer broke into first grade?

:?How is it disrespectful for saying that money was the main motivation for signing with the Warriors in the first place!? Money is the main motivation to a hell of a lot of professional sportsmen. I really really do not see the 'disrespect' in that. We must be on the opposite side of the spectrum here. Yeah and Maloney said that pre coming to the Warriors and Inu is talking about why he joined the Warriors PRE joining the Warriors.

Yep, mountain out of a molehill. In fact I prefer the honesty rather than the bullshit lines players often dribble out when moving to a new club...

For the vast majority, I reckon 80% of their decision to choose a particular club is based on $$.

Probably quite similar to the vast majority of the general workforce...

Feddie, you continue to amaze me with your tunnel vision. Nevermind. Juju is spot on, Maloney made his point clear before arriving, the only thing he has said that could be taken in any negative tone is that he wanted to get back to Sydney to raise his family. I'd be amazed if he makes as dopey a comment as Inu made. There were no pretentions with Maloney. I also have no doubt whatsoever that he gave his 110% to the club. Juju is also spot on that Inu is amazingly naiive to think the comment washes well.

Feddie, a lot of comments have been made around why Inu wasn't playing first grade. If his attitude was even slightly similar at training or around the club I'm not surprised at all.

 sorry that I don't find that a professional sportsmen said that is main motivation for leaving a club for another was money as disgraceful! God forbid, that never happens! You need to look outside Rugby League maybe........

So let me get this straight though one more time, Maloney while he is at the club talks about before signing how he never wanted to join the Warriors and only did because it was the last option (while still at the club)=alright. Inu talking about before signing for the Warriors money played a large role like hundreds of other professional sportsmen= disgraceful and disrespectful

 like I said there is probably better stuff you can have a dig at him about if you feel so inclined.

By what seems to be the yardstick around here, Maloney has shown NO loyalty to the club. Get your head out of your arse.

What are you talking about, he's been just about the best #6 in our clubs history.
