That's what I mean. If they wanted to be cruel, instead of paying him out, they could've offered him a crap role and he resign himself saving the club around $300K.

I have friends who have had that happen to them.

New management came in, didn't want to fire them because they had a long service record and gave them stupid roles doing menial tasks.

No pay rises for years. The ones who did find other jobs essentially left on their own accord.

I would imagine that would be viewed as a breach of the contract - he would be able to say he was employed to be the "Head NRL coach", not just some employee on the coaching staff

And if you think about it who in their right mind will tell the media oh yeah, we are going to sack anderson at the end of the year, and replace him with Kearney, they gave him every opportunity to save his job by getting the team into the 8 and having a crack at winning.

Making a Grand Final and then not coming close the next season just goes to show he doesn't cut the mustard.

I for one am glad he is gone, we have the best young coach coming through the NRL, he has been part of a system with the storm, their under 20's last season won the comp, he has been part of it and he has learned what it takes to be part of a club that has won premierships and the kind of work that is needed to get a premiership.

Regardless of them cheating, look at the storm they had nothing to play for but they won more games then they lost .. just goes to show a culture and when you listen to the players they all know and understand their roles within the team.

Daniel Anderson was not the right person for the job and in 2 seasons he has proved it, he was lucky that last year we had the magic run and we made the final, just goes to prove we were a top 4 team and this year we added talent to the roster and we finished 12th. during the regular season how long were we in the top 8 for?

I know Roy personally and i take offense to this ridiculous comments towards him that have no merit.

So basically when you have no idea don't make out like you do ....

I don't know but in the corporate world, I know lots of people who were hired for a particular job title/position and was moved to another role due to a RESTRUCTURE.

In 2 years or 50 odd games, we really only played well for 13 odd games.

there are 2 parts to this equation i think we can all agree 2010 was a dismal letdown across the board and changes had to be made if the board think a new coach can improve things so be it but the way it was handled was unprofessional to say the least, to go out shopping for a new coach behind ando's back apart from a slap in the face to him personally is a massive blow to team morale, then he gets fired by email ffs

I don't agree with what your saying but you have every right to that opinion, I'm not here to argue.

The only thing I can't help but reply to is the bold. You cannot tell me Kearney has been taught and brought up well as a coach. I don't care what you say, the fact is Melbourne Storm cheated and all the glory and premierships they won, were won due to cheating. Bellamy IMO cannot coach as he has showed us in SOO. As soon as he had a side that wasn't full of superstars he buckled. They won more then they lost yes, but who wouldn't with a side like theirs. Ok, he won the WC but that was with the help of Bennett. He hasn't proven anything to me yet. I hope when he does come he proves me wrong and if he does I'll be the first to admit I was wrong. But ATM it seems like he isn't fully ready for a FG gig.

This forum is very much a mixture of all types. It might surprise you there are those who can't get to games or don't know any of the football staff or how to contact them. Yet they are still entitled to have opinions even if they differ to yours.

I'm pleased that Roy, Ozzie and the gang good people. But that doesn't not mean that there aren't other people around who posess better ideas and skills to manage the club and take it to a even higher level.

Peter Wynn's name was suggested this morning and the incumbent board's supporters already have rallied to discredit him and label him a Fitzgerald puppet. I see that thread has been deleted because of that unsubstantiated claim. Peter Wynn is a nice guy too and I'm sure would have the club at heart as well.

I was very happy for the Emperor to be shown the door 18 months ago, but I am not as closed minded as you to think that the club can't do better than what we have and I am prepared to listen to alternatives. Sadly it seems that you have made your mind up before you have even seen the opposing ticket.
