Sorry but if you can't find him on the phone, you wait an hour for him to call you back. Sacking by email is not on. TBH even sacking by phone is gutless. If you are big enough to take a CEO's pay packet, you're big enough to deal with this type of thing face to face.

I was surprised he didn't tweet it to him

how do we know he didn't try and ring him several times over a period of time? .... maybe he did? and the email was the last resort

maybe they could have waited a day or 2 until Ando did get back to them??? ... for all we know Ando was ignoring them cos they had pissed him off with the meeting a few days earlier??? .... who knows???

Look, I agree with you. If it just came out of the blue. If Anderson was not expecting it and suddenly got an e-mail saying: "you`re sacked", then that would be outrageous. And gutless. And totally unacceptable. BUT Osborne said that Anderson was expecting it. That implies that there had been dialogue between Anderson and Osborne already.

According to the papers/radio Ossie spoke to Ando to warn him that he may want to walk but Ando chose to stick it out.

But it sounds far more dramatic for the papers to say that Anderson was informed of his sacking 'by e-mail'. Bottom line is: WE DON`T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED.

But if it's in the media it must be true!!

actally a few companies are now choosing to fire people by indirect means rather than the traditional face to face meeting it seems employee morale suffers when you can hear a screaming argument going on next door

If I suggest we go for a coffee, you'll know that it won't be good news.

Still, DA wasn't just some misc. employee of our club. He was our coach, surely someone of that position at least deserves something more formal.
At least Kearney will know the queues for a sacking if it comes in the future.

You would think after it was leaked to Hadley and the ensuing hammering he gave the board on air every chance he could the coach would answer a call from the CEO or at the very least be expecting one.
