Hey, I'm still here. Hit me with more of the same usual shit... Victorian, AFL sucks, Victoria is the hell-hole of Australia. Got anything else new? God it's gonna sting when all you Sydneysiders watch us hold up another trophy this year. You're all as geniused as each other.

Well, if you do win it, don't count your chickens too early. Took a few years to catch you last time, won't take that long if you're doing it again.

f**king Victorians..

I hear all that.
But what if your team was cheated out of the competition - then spent 11 years trying to get back in but constantly cheated out of a return.
How would you feel about rugby league then?

I would still love it of course. If I had to follow my team in a minor league I would and most likely look at the bigger picture and find another team to support in the NRL.

There is a big Bi-Codal double header this Saturday at Belmore Sports Ground. In NSWRL's NSW Cup, The Bulldogs take on the Tigers at 2pm. And then at 7:30pm, the Hyundai A-League Sydney FC club take on the NSW Premier League Premiers Sydney Olympic in a Pre-season game.

Everytime I see this "bi-codal" thread pop up I think "bi-sexual" some fop-haired creep with tight jeans and a pink t-shirt visual sh*t. Pretty much the same thing really.

And no, it's not ok.

Rugby league is everything.

I have strife understanding how anyone could follow Rugby League, Soccer or Union and AFL. If you watch AFL with eyes that love any of the other 3 sports, AFL is an abortion.

that is seriously a stupid attidude. Anyone is entitled to their personal tastes; but to suggest you cant understand how someone might appreicaite different sports effectively just because they 'look different' to your favourite sport is infantile.

Guess what, Curling and cricket and hockey are all "ball and stick" games that dont look like RL or quite like each other either.... does that mean you cant understand how someone cant like more than one of them? Half the people in this thread should grow a brain. We all know we like RL: with the exception of synchronised swimming, haughty attitudes towards other sports usually means theres something else going on in your mind than an actual problem with the sport.

Let me explain a few things..
As someone who was raised playing & watching sports where ball security is vitally important, then to watch a game where you can fumble a ball 100mtrs upfield with no penalty is bizzare.
Add to that that they have to reward these players with a point when they miss ,then it gets absurd...
But that is only half the problem .
I was indifferent to AFL till about 5 yrs ago, when the fans & the media started with their AFL superior bullshit...
To call anyone who dares say they dont like it or like other sports ,UN AUSTRALIAN is laughable.
Plus the amount of MYTHS,stories & downright lies put plenty of people off .
Then there is the protection of the AFL by the police & compliant media..
AFL scandals outrate NRL ones by about 3-1,yet the NRL is always cast as the bad boys.

Then lets get onto skills...most AFL players cant catch,& when it comes to kicking they miss the giant sticks as many times as they get it through.
yet we have media stories saying they would be OLYMPIC athletes if they chose not to fumble.

Then there is the constant rammimg down the throats by the TV & Print media in the Northern states ,where AFL is a blimp on the radar.
Despicable game ,with a despicable culture.

Actually, it's totally logical but please, do go on...

Anyone is entitled to their personal tastes;

And if you post them on a forum, other people are entitled to ridicule them.

but to suggest you cant understand how someone might appreicaite different sports effectively just because they 'look different' to your favourite sport is infantile.

You spell like an 8 year old and call me infantile?

I follow other sports apart from Rugby League and I can appreciate what most other Football codes offer, even though I don't follow them all.

Guess what, Curling and cricket and hockey are all "ball and stick" games that dont look like RL or quite like each other either....

How long have they used a ball in Curling champ?

Hockey has more in common with Football codes than it does with Cricket.

Awful, awful anology.

does that mean you cant understand how someone cant like more than one of them?

You don't understand them at all based on your terrible analogy.

You should be asking different questions, like;

"Why am I like this?"...

...to your psychiatrist...

Half the people in this thread should grow a brain.

You first.

We all know we like RL: with the exception of synchronised swimming, haughty attitudes towards other sports usually means theres something else going on in your mind than an actual problem with the sport.

You think what you like.

AFL is an abortion of a sport.

Can't stand AFL; messy, clumsy and has nancies like that Saints turd Riewoldt as one of their so-called "champions."

Don't mind the odd Soccer highlight and I like the Wobblies. But would rather watch sports like Cricket, Tennis & Basketball than a full game of AFL/Soccer, etc

It's a bi-codal's wet dream this weekend at Homebush with both of Australia's biggest football codes with four of the biggest supported football teams set to draw over 70k+ crowds. Also, with no AFL in Melbourne this weekend, Rugby League is the only game in town this Friday night. Whether you follow the Victorian code or not, it's good to rub one into the mexicans now and again.

I didn't bother reading through the rest of the thread but anybody who endorses the EPL as a legitimate competition is a douchebag. Whoever has the money wins. What is the point of going for say Bolton? They raise a good player, can't afford to keep him and then thats it. As Doug Stanhope puts it, "Have some character and pick the underdog. Going for these rich teams is like going to the casino and cheering for the house." He is right. f**k the EPL.

But to specifically answer this thread. A-League. No. Nothing will change. You can follow whatever sport you want, but the signing of Kewell means nothing.

You nailed the EPL. I have friends who are right into it and I've never understood why- there's only a tiny pool of teams who will ever win it. It fails as a 'competition'.

Also, why are there people in this thread who say they hate union for being slow and boring, then go on to say they love NFL? FMD, NFL is awful, it's the most stop-start game on the planet. It can take almost an hour for something vaguely exciting to happen. The constant breaks, team changes and lack of action make it one of the slowest games I've ever seen.
I'd still watch it any day over AFL though. What an embarrassing sport that is.

Rugby league is number one for me. Closely followed by surfing- I watch every World Tour event, love it. I also watch a bit of union, basketball and tennis. Won't touch soccer. I'd watch Gaelic Football if it were more readily available here. It's like the rugby league version of AFL, with AFL being the clunkier, slower union. It's just done right. There's very little in the way of spastic fumbling; they don't stop the game for marks, so it's much more free flowing and much faster; they play on a rectangular ground, so their plays have much more direction in them (less running around in circles) plus they aren't rewarded for missing, instead they're rewarded for being more accurate by getting more points if they can get the ball into the bottom goal past the goalkeeper.
