The Rabbitohs are reportedly facing internal unrest after it emerged coach Jason Demetriou hasn’t held star duo Cody Walker and Latrell Mitchell to the same standards as the rest of the squad.

According to the SMH, figures inside the club’s football department have reportedly made their concerns known to Rabbitohs officials.

Assistant coaches Sam Burgess and John Morris are also reportedly of the same opinion with South Sydney facing a crucial clash against the Roosters in Round 27 which will define their season.

Meanwhile, discontent with Demetriou has also emerged after players found out he had liked a fan’s comment slamming both Liam Knight and Jacob Host’s performances earlier in the season.

After his side’s loss to the Raiders in Round 13, Demetriou liked a comment which reportedly read: “We had @liam_knight and @hostyyy playing for us tonight. It’s a wonder we didn’t lose by 50 having those clowns pretending to be first graders.”

If the bold part is true, that is tremendously dumb from the coach. While the comment is pretty factual, it is not the coaches place to do what he did....if true.

It's not effort with Latrell, it's fitness.

He had 20 runs yesterday - that's the most times he has ever run the ball in a match his entire NRL career.

He isn't fit enough to run it that many times and push up play after play. He just isn't. And it's costly.

Its all about effort, he doesn't make the effort to get in position defensively and he doesn't make the effort to train properly

This is not wazdog reporting it, this is fox news reporting it. If Demtriou did that, he should face some punishment from his club.....tremendously dumb. If its false, Souths/Demetriou should be taking some legal action.

C’mon; you can’t really feel that 2022/2023 Rabbit have been in a ‘poor state’. Had some injuries which haven’t helped, but the main issue seems to be that the inmates are running the asylum.

Seems to me like the season has pivoted since the Wighton signing was announced. Maybe it is coincidence, but shows the risk of big name signings in a team environment where you already need to shed players for salary cap reasons.

It's 100% true. Demetriou or Souths scrubbed the like at some point overnight, but it's ok cause I saved it before hand so we never, ever forget
