Opinion Is Ricky Stuart the most overrated coach ever?

Exactly-he always has an excuse before he takes over-first thing he said before 2011 Origin "Can't see us winning more than one game"-Gee thanks you little merkin.

His Roosters just didn't even consider the possibility of losing in the 2003 GF. The strategy used was to soften up the opposition and then try to run them ragged, but when that didn't work, there was no Plan B and in the end, they were flattered by the 12 point defeat.

Stuarts one and only premiership was gift wrapped and handed to him.
When he had to actually win one 03/04 he failed.

Raiders fans will look forward to more of this in the weeks to come

As an outsider, it appears that a lot of the players at Canberra have shit attitudes. It's going to take some time and effort from Stuart to f**k them off or get them into mental shape, but once he does that, I'm sure the Raiders will compete.

I'm not Stuart's biggest fan, but I think he's up to the job.
Yep. Unfortunately the players with the shittest attitudes are usually the most talented - see Dugan and Ferguson.

I read somewhere Ricky had a spare shirt packed that night for when the boys tipped the big gatorade thing on him after they won

Remember when Ricky lashed out at league forums

Quoted posters word for word and in the next breath denies he reads them

http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/nrl/bagging-a-hero/story-e6frext9-1225852183801z

Usually people who feel the need to publically declare they ignore criticism are reading every night

So go easy on him

Sure the money is good but the public humiliation must f**king hurt

"That's why I don't read blogs, and I'm a whole lot happier for it."

Were doing some things 100% better than last year, and some things have regressed (see campese and our attack...)

I'll give it till mid next year before I make any real judgement on his and the teams progress

Poor Victor... It's not going to get any better. The first year is always the best performing because its not his squad. Wait until he has done more recruitment - it will only get worse. Trust Eels, Sharks, and Roosters supporters.

he recruited well for us in Norman and Peats but we now have a coach who can utilise those guys better and get more out of them than Stuart could have tbh

This is EXACTLY what Ricky wants the fans and the board to do.while your waiting he's banking massive amounts of money and sending the club backwards.

One wrap I'll give him is hes a great salesman.

Peats yes , let's not forget RS tried to recruit just about every hooker in the comp before he settled on Peats .it's not like he identified this great little hooker sitting in reggies and zoned in on him knowing his potential . He was about his 4th or 5th option .

Norman I'm not to sure . If you believe the chatter he's on a big chunk of cash and IMO has shown not much more than Ben Roberts did in regards to his 5th tackle decisions .

Im still not sure why any of you care so much, he's coaching the canberra raiders, who are one of the least relevant teams in the comp, absolutely no one gives a shit about them unless you are a fan...

One can only really conclude the only reason people care is because they are still pretty seriously butthurt over Stuart.

Stuart may be a rubbish coach, or he may be a good coach, but he's not coaching any of your sides so why so much invested in him?
