Not on Friday night though, thats the sole reason why they lost.
Correct.....well not the sole reason. Fox Sports had an article recently that had the ladder based on 60 minute games and we were equal first. Ain’t that a kick in the pants.

Remember that time Gallen thought he was obstructed so he stood there with his hands up without even attempting to make the tackle, the try was scored, bunker checked it and out it was a deemed fair try?

I remember the commentators giving him an absolute hiding over it because it was dumb. He should have at least tried to tackle to guy and let the bunker decide whether or not rules were broken.

I'm sure Gallen learnt from that mistake, hopefully the Raiders do too.

Why does everyone talk rules without quoting rules?

It's like Dennis Denuto and the vibe.

When to blow 8.1The Referee must carry a whistle which he shall blow whistle to commence and terminate each half of the game. Except for these occasions the blowing of the whistle shall temporarily stop the play. The Referee shall blow the whistle: (a) when a try or a goal has been scored (b) when the ball has gone out of play (c) when re-starting play, other than at a scrum (d) when he detects a breach of the Laws of the Game, except when to stop the play would be to the disadvantage of the non-offending team (e) when play is irregularly affected by the ball or the player carrying the ball coming into contact with the Referee, a Touch Judge, or with any person not taking part in the match or with any object which should not normally be on the playing field (f) when any irregularity, not provided for in these Laws, occurs and one team unjustifiably gains an advantage (g) when a stoppage is necessary in order to enforce the Laws or for any other reason.

Whist blown accidentally 8. Play must stop even if the whistle is blown accidentally in which case play is re-started with a scrum where the ball was last touched by a play in the field of play before the whistle is blown, and his team shall be given the loose head and put-in.

Touch Judge Signals 43. The Touch Judge cannot stop the play for any infringement but he may signal the nature of an infringement if the Referee is unsighted and seeks his guidance.

Need any more?

Enforce the incorrect rule you mean?

Christ.
Your commitment to being the dumbest motherf**ker alive is actually impressive at this point.

Incredible scenes.

Which rule?

The f**king rule that's been spoken about ad nauseam this week, and which the NRL referee's boss has made a statement confirming rules were not enforced, and non enforcement which has seen several officials be stood down from FG.

LOL f**k me rigid, boys.

For the record play should stop when the touch judge puts the flag up, however play is only stopped by the referees whistle. Could it be both that the touch judge, referee, AND Canberra Players f*cked up?

YES! Yes we can. That's my view. The Raiders f**king up should not have mattered though, because the bunker is there to clean up the mess of the touchie and referee, who sent it up as No try
So yes, the touchie f**ked up, the ref f**ked up, the raiders f**ked up and the bunker f**ked up.

None of which changes the fact that the decision to award the try was incorrect and has been confirmed as such. Now it's time for insane idiotic sharks fans to accept they got a try awarded which should not have been awarded and yes, we all need to move on.

You’ll have to dig

It's frustrating that we are talking about it here and people are saying "this is the rule" or "that is the rule" but no one ever actually quotes the f**king rules!!

The discourse would be greatly improved if we as a community actually started examining what the rules are- word for word, rather than just relying on our feel and what our Pop told us when we started playing in Under 6s.

I don't think the NRL or the media take a good lead in this regard either. The NRL almost hides the rules on their website.

Like I said, it has been quoted in this thread and the gameday thread. Do we really need to post it at the top of every single page?

The rule has been quoted above and it seems that the Touch Judge cannot stop play.

Sometimes the rulebook contradicts itself.

So I'll need more info if I'm going to come across to the other side.
