Watching Origin the other night, Izzy added to the spectacle. His leaps were incredible. If some other player was there, I doubt the could have added much to the game as Izzy.

Nah mate there's a few park footy players in Wagga doing those leaps on the reg. They'll get their chance now, and you won't even notice Folau's gone.

Ok fair enough. I'd still like the game to be in a position to keep our best players in the comp. Matt Duffie from Melbourne can jump pretty high too.

You dont get it.. you dont get what Izzy is. Your so far up your own Parramatta club you cant seem to see outside it.

NRL dont pay 4 mil to EVERY player the AFL is trying to poach.

Izzy, GI, Slater and Thurston are freaks.. so was SBW. they are the type of guys you keep in the game. The kids forkin love these guys.

Hunt isnt a guy you'd thro 4 mil at. But Izzy is.

Who cares? Let the greedy merkins go, and then simply forget they ever existed and enjoy the next young stars that come through in their place.

No code will ever prosper long term if they continually let their best players walk out. Sorry but Isreal Folau's, Greg Inglis's, Jarryd Hayne's etc, are all special talents, and if they were a dime a dozen buddy every team would have one but they don't do they.

That is a moronic way to look at it.

A central contract system or higher rep payments will keep the best in the game and give players something to strive for.

No-one in their right mind would pander to any individual player leaving the NRL.

But fixing the problem (which their clearly is after reading what players have been saying) before it gets out of hand for the premier players in the game top 25 or 50 would be the smart thing to do.

That's the problem though, Gallop f**ked up and undersold the TV rights and now we don't even have a good enough budget to pay these rep players.
Face it, atm there is nothing the NRL can do to keep these players in other than hope that they stay loyal.
Hopefully with independant commission and a new system implemented in the NRL during the next 5-6 years can establish something, but atm we're completely AFL and unions bitch.
