i think sandow is a better halfback then pearce, but i dont think the eels should have paid that much after being outplayed by the worst halfback going around in pearce
The worst halfback going around already plays for Parramatta.

The way his game has developed has made him more suitable to halfback, as a halfback he hasn't improved at all since 2008, his game just isn't developing and as a result he has become far too predictable. He's a great defender but you just can't have a non attacking halfback.

The team fell apart for a billion reasons in 2009.

dont know about that, pearce is as predictable he has no attack other then the kick, which is similar to the eels halfback
He has the inside pass and the cutout pass. Problem with the latter is sometimes he forgets that you can't cut out all your players otherwise the ball goes over the sideline.

Pearce rarely sends the ball over the sideline :S That was Finch's specialty and to a lesser extent Anasta

He played better then you think in the first game...I would not doubt him to improve into a better halfback then he already is.

He was solid without being spectacular. Even if we do drop him who do we choose from? There's no other NSW eligible halfbacks that are in great form to take his spot.

Keep him and build a spine and he will improve more.

Oh I don't think he should be dropped as NSW halfback, at least not in this series and especially with Mullen out of the picture.

Finch was sht in an excellent team. Pearce is excellent in a sht (young) team. Finch cost us another premiership imo. And I don't believe that halfbacks can play hooker, not many players can make the transition (Wing).

Are you kidding me? How many years have you been watching rugby league? Craig Wing is one of only a few ex halfbacks who successfully switched to hooker? You sure you don't wanna rethink that?

Young team? Minichiello, Perrett, Kenny-Dowell, Carney, Anasta, Aubusson, Myles, Ryles, Riddell....yep, lots of rookies there...

You think he thought about it in the first place?

How the f**k is Pearce playing excellent?

How can anyone's logic completely defy any rationality or reasoning?

Even with Mullen back the halves-pairing depends allot on the 5/8 as well. Soward and Mullen paired offers a strong kicking game yet they don't take on the line as much.

Pearce was good last week with his field of play. Not sure why Soward was not kicking much after a set though.
