Second...close enough.

I’m surprised Head’s no. 1 as his lack of footwork (particularly on a front press) is excruciatingly poor.
They have all been poor this series.
The only batsmen this year that rates in the top 10 in fact is Uzzie
Usman Khawaja 18 inns 732 (40.66)
Tim Pain 19 inns 493 (35.21)
Shaun Marsh 19 inns 492 (25.89)

The fact that Shaun is averaging 25 this year is very very concerning.
Oh, and Mitch has scored 53 runs in last 8 test inns.

Tim Paine press conference today
This week he blames the loss on the team being without Smith and Warner
Sinking to the level of saying if India were missing 2 players.....they would be in the same boat
Last week he was saying the Aussies were back, that he could take India down
Paine has been watching too many of Mary’s excuse laden press conferences
Shifting blame......not owning the result

I haven't watch a minute of the test series against India, as I am boycotting watching the Australian cricket team until at least Smith is reinstated, but I will say that losing a test series to India in Australia will be one of our darkest hours and much darker than the ball tampering incident. It will also be one of India's greatest moments and all because Cricket Australia bowed to pressure from Australia's mainstream media and social media and disgracefully suspended 3 of our players including our 2 best batsman, all to make a moral stand, when the most severe penalty in cricket history for ball tampering was 1 game. lol I hope all of you who called for our players to be banned feel proud of yourself. Instead of standing by and supporting our players in their time of need, you now have to support a substandard team. In a way I think it serves the Australian Cricket Board and all of those who called for the banning of Smith, Warner and Bancroff right, that Australia is performing so poorly without the above 3 mentioned players. It also means that all 3 should be reinstated to the Australian team as soon as they are available.

I remember hearing someone on Youtube recently say that no one ever won by taking the moral higher ground. It is a pretty good quote and quite apt regarding this year's test series against India.

BTW I will reiterate. I was very pissed off when Cricket Australia suspended our players for 9 months or 1 year, after the ICC handed down their penalties. In every other international ball tampering instance, after the ICC handed down their penalties the players received no further penalties from their respective Cricket boards. When Sachin Tendulka was caught ball tampering, The Indian Cricket Board didn't impose a further suspension on top of what the ICC handed down, instead they fought the ICC and had the charges dropped to cleaning the ball. lol

The next time another country gets caught for ball tampering, I hope their country's cricket board doesn't hand down any further punishment, than the ICC hands down. That will really make the Australian Cricket Board look like a laughing stock.

Our players did something stupid in South Africa. It didn't mean that we should have sacrificed the series against India.

Not enough happening in the nrl to keep us occupied, got to spread the wings and discuss how we watch the grass growing slowly.

I find the current cricketing issues intriguing, it’s actually a similar situation to the Dragons, a captain and coach that can’t get the right result, press conferences that offer up excuses such as we were missing 2 of our best players as the reason for losing .....rather than saying our top 6 batsmen have no discipline, don’t value their wicket and are simply not up to it.

Similar supporter bases, those that accept mediocrity and shout out leave them alone, they are doing their best, [while being annhiliated LOL}.... versus those that won’t accept shit house performances that lack heart and discipline.

Amazing similarities

To me it's Mitch Marsh and Finch who would have to be changed long before S Marsh.
But agree every batsman has throwen there wickets away.
But Indian bowling attack is the best in the world.
And when we played Pakistan and got annhiliated, they apparently had the best bowling attack......will Sri Lanka as well? Our batsmen have crashed and burned against all comers, not just vs India.

I certainly did not mean to open another can of worms about the 3 gentlemen (?) . However each of us have an opinion about their sentences for what they did , each of us also have our own set of values.

For mine , I just find it hard to believe that because they have served their suspensions they may be allowed back into the Australian team once again . It is almost akin to saying that as the penalty has been paid , they are no longer cheats , I can’t accept that logic .
Understand your feelings Gareth, but in life when you serve time for doing the crime....it’s only fair that you can go back to the work you were doing and get on with your life.

Packer did much worse than rubbing sandpaper on a ball, he paid the penalty and came back. Broncos Lodge did much worse than Smith and Warner, he is back.

They cheated, does not mean they are cheats now. A person might cheat in an exam, they go on to get a job one day, are they still cheats in their jobs?

Yes they cheated..... however, if they don’t cheat again, they are no longer cheats.

Doesn’t it irk you that we have players and captains of other countries cheating....rubbing mints and other foreign objects on balls and getting one week vs our boys getting one year.....then the same captains and players doing it again.....and again getting just one lousy week.

Rubbing sandpaper on a ball is no worse than claiming a catch when you know the ball touched the ground first, or standing your ground when you know very well the ball touched your bat..... or claiming a try when you know you lost the ball......it’s all cheating.

Like Packer and Lodge......it’s time to let them back in. Desisions can’t be made on whether we like the person or not......”he can come back, but you can’t” situation.

Let them back if they are good enough to make the side. Stuff what the critics say. Plenty of other people have been caught for tampering with the ball. One clown even bit the ball and he got no where near as long.
A year is outrageous!! Why do we insist on showing everyone how rule following and noble we are.
It's all about money and winning so f$%k the critics and the do gooders.
It's not like our culture is better since they left and our results are even worse.
Other crickets have taken money for *pitch results*, used banned substances, gotten into pub brawls and all the rest but if you scuff up the ball with sand paper then you should be burned at the stake. Spare me.
Gordsy, spot on, exactly what you say.
I am appalled and sick of the do gooders and hypocrites as well
They can get stuffed and return to Sunday school for all I care
Luckily they are in the minority....less than 12% don’t want them back.
It’s those 12% that should be burned at the stake for being f$#k wits

Perfectly stated and written Frank.
Thankfully the new boss of Cricket Aust has come out and said Smith and Davey Warner WILL be back.
Suck eggs to the do gooders and hypocrites, they can go and watch lawn bowls
Or soon watch their NRL teams try and get away with cheating every week
Or perhaps go and watch South Africa, Pakistan and England tamper with the ball
Rather than cheering on Smith and Warner scoring their hundreds....and hundreds

Geez I feel sorry for you if you haven't seen any of this series. This Indian team is a cracker. Have you ever seen Bumrah bowl? He is incredible. He makes Starc look shit. I would say Bumrah and Rabada are best bowlers in the world atm.

If this thread is too boring for you head over to the "Happy 2019" thread. That one is sooooo exciting. Well done on starting a thread about absolutely nothing.

No, I haven't seen Bumrah or Rabada bowl. I said that I would make a personal stand and I have stuck by my guns. If the ratings are as low as Ouryears suggests, then maybe there are many others who are boycotting watching Australian cricket until Smith and co reinstated.
