chalk positionally wasnt too good but he did quite a few good things during the game..the turtle is just way to slow and too crap to be playing FG..i mean come on he has nothing to offer.

I also thought Turner and Jones played pretty poor..they couldnt get over the advantage line at all.

Carney and Dobo played ok, at times they looked real good and then just stopped playing.

We need Leroy Lahrs asap..also zilly should be playing, age shouldnt be the problem to keep a good player down.

What a pathetic game. They can forget about my attendance this season.

Did these players actually train with footballs in pre-season?

Bunch of overpaid hacks!!!!!!!

As you can tell i'm pretty pissed off.

I fear for Zillman to be honest. If he was there tonight, then the massacre gets worse.

We need Goodwin at fullback ASAP as ALL Manly's tries were scored off kicks.

Tilse was strong and that was about it. No other player stood out for me.

Our injury toll this early is also a concern. Thom LL, Goodwin, Weyman and Bickerstaff would all have been in the 17 tonight. I think I'm missing a few as well.

Did Thommo get injured tonight as well? I can only remember seeing him in the first half and FOx would never update on a Raiders injury because they were tossing off over Mnezies, Orford and Matai.

it wasnt a good game we played but considering the conditions it might of been hard for the players,im not making excuses but sh*t we didnt even look like scoring a try.
david howell was the best player out there in my opinion.

I agree with TR re first 5-6 weeks, compounded by PL having a bye this week. Won't be mass sackings but Purtell and Best would be the two I would punt straight away. Graham should be put on one wing he is not a centre. Carney Dobson combo will only get better and I was impressed with Turner and Logan. Costigan didn't look fit. Thompson looked like he may have damaged his shoulder. Considering we have Goodwin, Weyman, TLL, Bickerstaff, Thurling to come back things can only improve. I am not sure about Dunneman, looks very slow and I would rather Costigan or Tongue fill in for Withers and bring another player in to the 17.

Was Zillman ruled out or just dropped to make way for Howell? If he was dropped It was a very ordinary decision.

Things can only go up from here. Sure, they hit rock bottom and as azza said they have started to dig....but if they dig for long enough they'll get to china! And everyone loves chinese food.

It's going to be a tough few weeks...but it will get better.

ummmm where the hell was the attack tonight???that try to chalk was just luck,if carney and dobson are going to be a success than they need to work on the attack, our forwards stinked like sh*t. Miller, costigan, tilse and all the other forwards were running at 2kmph to the opposition line....that was the slowest game of footy ive seen in a few years.

I heard Henry was going to ask the NRL if he could stand behind the line and tell the players where to stand like mini footy. I can even see him leading the players around the field and getting them to stand with the arms outstretched so they are forming a line across the field.

$1.01 me thinks...

I wonder if we'll give the 1998 Magpies a run for their money? They were diabolical but I seriously think we could give them a nudge.

Points will gather again for the Canberra Raiders.

Manly were about due for a huge game and you just happened to be unlucky enough to run into them.

Of all the sides in the NRL, Canberra have been obliged to make more changes than many others.

And not even Elliot could have done much against that unusual Manly attack.

Its a long, long season.

I tipped youse too.

It could be worse, you could be a penrith fan and have been filled with high expectations in the media that your team might do well. Gary Freeman tipped us to come 3rd

I'd hate to make a souths comparison but if your gonna have a sh*t year then take some chances. Souths kept playing Walker at number 7 even though he was dreadful and kept Joe Williams on the sideline. They finally played Williams toward the end of the season and had some better results. We have to get rid of Chalk now and give Zillman the fullback spot.

I'm sorry but for mine Chalk was about our best on paddock. He diffused alot of high balls and did threaten several times on kick returns. But I agree, Goodwin needs to be given the gurnsey as soon as he gets back.

The biggest issue for me was our kicking game, or lack thereof. I can only recall one bomb being put up by us all night. All Dobbo and Carney did was send little nurdling grubbers through straight to Stewart.

All in all, we were terrible.
