I want Max Donnelly as our CEO...he's done more at the Eels in 2 months than Doust has achieved in 5 years. Latest signing of Bernie Gurr as CEO who has outstanding credentials. Its not that hard to find the right people if you are serious...that goes for coaching, support staff etc

Won't the winner of the Panthers-Bullgrubs game play the loser of the Canberra-Shonkies game? I would back Penrith to beat the Shonkies.

Your right I already predicted two straight losses for the sharks. Um so I guess the Panthers have three weeks left.

He turned us into a very good defensive, disciplined, hard working and consistent team. But we were never a good attacking team under him, he seemed to value an honest reliable toiler with low error rates in nearly every position. I think he actually liked when we had backs get injured, as it let him play second rowers out there.

I have a strange feeling that Ivan Cleary wIll not be the answer. I would prefer Tony Smith, Michael Hagan, Geoff Toovey, Jason Demetriou or Matt Head. I do not think
that Cleary is a motivational or inspirational coach which is what we need to lift our players. Further I think that he has a success rate under 50%. Our two lower grade coaches seem to have the ability to lift the performance of players. Mary was typically Mr Nice Guy but where did that get us as players knew that if they did not perform they would probably be retained. Accordingly poor play was perpetuated.

He got the warriors to a grand final.

you have to have incredible man management & motivational skills to get the warriors to a grand final. they have always had talent but dreadful focus, discipline & consistency.

he got that poorly focused, ill-disciplined, inconsistent rabble to a grand final. that requires wayne bennett type motivation & inspiration.

he may not be the answer - but he is certainly worth a punt - he has more behind him than price & jowls.

Cleary has an overall 49% success rate for 28 points and Mary has a 42% success rate for 24 points this year as opposed to 28 points for last year. Not a huge difference. We need a coach with at least a 60% success rate. While 27 points was 8th position this year 32 points was 7th this year. I believe that our coach should be aiming for a Top 6 or better position meaning 34 points or more.
