he is a good player , happy to see him back.

tbh id rather see him at 6 Maloney 7 and a Townsend bailey hooker rotation.

then we can carry a four forward bench.

Been a tough critic on the lad and it was hard not to be but I think he played his best game of the season today.
He had an up and down season full of bad headspace and such but stood up today.
Unfortunately his time has ended.

Good luck with Channel 9 Broncos, Birdy.

Bird has been just as underwhelming as Holmes. His output in no reflects the hype he gets. Loots adds more the the team for a lot less cost.

GP T MIN AR ARM LB TA OL TK MT TB E
Loots 22 7 1760 270 2758 11 6 3 236 28 44 23
Bird 16 2 1267 217 1848 4 7 17 198 52 66 26

Bird has stronger stats in try assists, offloads and tackle breaks.
Loots is stronger in tries, line breaks, much lower missed tackle rate and error rate.

For Birds defence a missed tackle rate of 26% is poor. 2 tries for the season from a supposed attacking weapon.

We dodged a million dollar bullet with this kid. Happy he played out of his skin in 2016 and helped you guys hold up the trophy, now he's Wayne's World problem. Let it go , let it go,........

He did play well but he also was a culprit of the dropsies in the latter part of the game where we just kept giving it back to them .

Dumb to stick his hand out for a 6 again knock down!

RESPECT FOR BLUES STARS TAKES A DIVE
FOUR NSW Blues players snubbed the Brad Fittler Medal presentation at The Star casino last week — Aaron Woods, James Tedesco, Jack Bird and Nathan Peats.

It is the NSW State of Origin team’s most prestigious award and their no-shows have been described as “disrespectful’’ by Blues officials.

Woods and Tedesco had a weekend away in Melbourne and didn’t get back in time. At least Peats was on the Gold Coast and is supporting his wife and a new baby.

As for Bird, it’s probably not surprising. This is the same person who brushed the 300-game dinners for Paul Gallen, Luke Lewis and Chris Heighington during the season.

Other Cronulla Sharks stars James Maloney, Wade Graham, Andrew Fifita and Paul Gallen even left their Mad Monday drinks to be there as a mark of respect to the Blues jersey.

As I have said before, there could literally be a million reasons why he didn't attend these events but to miss them all is a bit fishy..
For a young star that seems to be crying out for respect, you would think that he'd show some in return right?

Brisbane's problem now.

Would suggest he doesn't give a rats about having genuine lifelong relationships with his team mates - the thing team sport is built on.
Id say it seems he sees Rugby League simply as a business/career - not interested in the lifestyle or relationships, just the coin he can earn.

So it would be wise to say that Birdy is the Nick Kyrios of the NRL then.

One week youse got to love him because he is a champion and then the next three weeks you just hope that someone drags him around the back of the sheds and gives him a real good old fashion flogging.

Nice dig about the Sharks events from Buzz there. Probably the only good thing the merkin's done.

In all fairness I reckon the old Sloth might of missed a few events in his time. With a head like that youse would have to had subjected the old bod to many a big bender.
