100% correct.if you are a true team player and want to the best for the team
JDB is a better lock for part of the game
Birdy "might" be better for other parts of the game
Birdy on the bench for me
JDB starting as we need to dominate teams in defence and JDB is streaks ahead of Birdy at that part of footy
Then bring on birdy when needed unless everyone saids Birdy is a gun wide backrower and then that settles that !
For me Sims and Su'a are ahead for now as edge backrowers until proven otherwise

Hook is the interviewee, isn't he?Thanks for the upload. Good candid interview from both Hook and interviewee. Beats what we get from the main stream media.
Bird has said in an article I've just posted that he hasn't trained in the backs during this pre-season. He says that his training has been in the back row.Upside, downside and high-scoring games: 2022 NRL season preview

This isn’t the first article I’ve read stating Bird will be playing Lock, for mine I’m not so sure. Jack de Belin is the best Lock at the club & arguably the fittest player at the club. Playing de Belin at Prop doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me, we have an abundance of Props, Molo, Lawrie, Woods, Kerr, Burgess etc so why play de Belin out of position?
I’ve stated previously Suli is unproven so I’d be playing Bird at Centre & let Suli work his way into first grade from NSW Cup once he’s shown he can play consistent week in week out footy.
On a separate point, a predicted 14th place finish is probably pretty fair given 2021 form. Coming into the new season without any real expectation is a good thing in my opinion particularly for the younger guys.
Another article seemingly totally dismissing Francis Molo. I’d be feeding him all these articles for breakfast.Upside, downside and high-scoring games: 2022 NRL season preview

MD , IMO they didn't spend 550k for a reserve grader and will give him the NRL gig and persevere. I have hopes that we have brought him at the right time when his maturity has kicked in . Hope the mind gurus are working overtime on him at the club !Upside, downside and high-scoring games: 2022 NRL season preview

There is not much in this article that I agree with. It seems to push the negative view on everyone except Ben Hunt and Tyrell Sloan, and even there it pushes the line "don't expect too much - he's a rookie". 14th position be damned - the author can blow it out his backside. And, as has been mentioned, where is Molo in the assessment?Upside, downside and high-scoring games: 2022 NRL season preview

Did the journos not get word that we signed Francis Molo? There hasn't been much said about him and I think that he will be the surprise packet in our team. He is a tough defender and can off-load the ball. Him and Burgess together to start the season will see us doing well. There is not much in this article that I agree with. Well, I'd be very disappointed if the Dragons did not finish in the top 4. We have the cattle to do so, now just need the form and discipline to do so.Upside, downside and high-scoring games: 2022 NRL season preview

Apparently now we have the coach to do it too!Well, I'd be very disappointed if the Dragons did not finish in the top 4. We have the cattle to do so, now just need the form and discipline to do so.
There was an article recently last month about potentially being sued at the present and may being going through the process as we speak?Do you think the lack of mention regarding Molo from the wider journalistic community has something to do with his unfortunate past? I'm thinking there's been a memo put out suggesting not to give him airtime. Bit of a conspiracy but I cant remember a representative player getting such little fanfare.
Yes you make a valid point. There was an article recently last month about potentially being sued at the present and may being going through the process as we speak?
I think we will be seeing a different JDB this year after full pre-season under his belt...he's a totally different beast to Bird....i think JDB/Sims/Sua back row w Bird covering all 3 in at 15 and playing long minutes ie: 55-60 per game......if you are a true team player and want to the best for the team
