I didnt think the middle 4 were that bad in the first 20mins vs Parra

our general kicking game was terrible which had us on the back foot

our returns from kicks were well below average and hurt our field position as they rushed up on us

we didnt come up and in from our backlines in defence

We didnt get off our line fast enough right across the line

Kafusi, Mahoney, NiuKure and Lane are serious forwards who started the first 20mins

I dont know how Parra keep producing, recruiting so many young explosive forwards

To think Paulo, RCG, Brown and Papali still come back and Matterson Stone, Rodwell and Cartwright very good depth to the mix

amazing pack depth and I would be going after a few if we end up with the opportunity and budget

Saints are smart letting Bird test the market. If a club offers him 800k a year good luck to him but I can't see many apart from the Dolphins offering him that and would he really want to go back to Qld? He will soon find out that 500k is what he is worth with his horrendous injury record.
I still think he could get to $600k - $650k but needs a good first uninterrupted rounds to bump that price up then there could be a few more takers ..

How do we constantly make it so hard for ourselves? I really thought Bird was going to be a big part of our team for next few years, clearly not!

Clearly not when he expects big dollars.... Dragons no longer pushovers...let other clubs pay overs for him...money can be used elsewhere... Not worth the dollars...look at what we paid for Sua and Molo...

People just need to trust the club on this one...

Not sure we are making it hard for ourselves.

You can't always predict how players / player managers are going to react.

One would have thought after a being an F- at the Broncos and the fact he could have been a complete bust last season but we took the risk that Bird would have shown some loyalty.

It appears not to be the case but he has form so not that surprising an outcome.

Play him until Burns recovers fully or maybe even drop him for Gosiewski.

Does dropping Bird and promoting Burns increase our likelihood of playing finals?
You’ll probably say yes because you’ve made up your mind he’s a dick but we both know the answer is no.

I can only say that if he and his agent were indeed after the ‘ big dollars’ then I am most disappointed with the mans attitude .

It was the Dragons that took the risk with him last year when no other club would go near him , but just over 12 months down the track the bloke has decided- and his agent that he deserves a bigger contract than ( as getsmarty & O.T. have said ) bluudy Su’a or Molo .

In this instance the Dragons have done the right thing , let him go to the Eels - who knows what will happen to him should the ‘ maestro ‘ get his hands on him ? 😳

Look I’m sorry but it just annoys me when the club fails to re-sign someone everyone piles on and says “stuff him! better off without him!” etc etc. Just because the club couldn’t negotiate a deal that suited both parties.
Wait and watch Cam McInnnes absolutely destroy it for Sharks this year meanwhile we have McCulloch.
The Bird thing is a real shame, spewing they couldn’t reach an agreement, he’s an excellent footballer and is about to have a breakout season, dragons will end up with egg on their face.

Did very little last season.IMO.
Thought the offer he received was adequate.....
If he can get a better offer,
take it....

First half of the season last year he was one of our best players, fell away later in the year but who didn’t.
He’s worth more than some of the other guys we have on 600+
