Not surprised at all.

This is nepotism plain and simple. He's Ricky's favourite. Ricky has said he literally wouldn't trade him for any other player in the league at fullback.

Ah their NRL have descended from their heavenly thrones to drop a random super-punishment again.

Wighton joins such fine company as Pearce and Stewart to be f**ked by the long God-Dick of the NRL.

I look forward to the Integrity Unit's next appearance on Earth in 2021

The NRL in general, and Todd Greenberg specifically, can go f**k themselves.

Completely excessive. But they hate Canberra so I’m not surprised.

Too excessive?
The man roamed around civic and belted a bunch of people unprovoked

10 weeks is INSANELY light! And the fact our idiot club are carrying on like this is a total f**king embarrassment.

Hawke, Stuart, Furner and Jack need to STFU and thank their lucky stars Wighton didn’t seriously harm anyone and facing jail time

Seriously nick the NRL ain't the law, Why couldn't we just wait and see what the courts where going to dish up, How many times people where I used to work where charged with drink driving and still kept their jobs so why should the NRL be any different.

So this Allan Hawke muppet, (I won't refer to him as Doctor as he did a PHD in philosophy lol and was a career public servant, not some medical practitioner) thinks a punishment of 2 weeks per person that Jack Wighton assaulted is excessive. Imagine if it were members of his family assaulted, would he feel the same way?

The funniest thing thought that was said by this peanut was the justification for why the penalty was excessive was that Wighton was still to face punishment by the ACT magistrate and court system. Well idiot, there is a reason for that and that is he committed and pleaded guilty to 5 counts of assault (and it was 5 separate people that he assaulted unprovoked). This is a serious offense and should be punished. Don't use that as an argument for a lesser penalty imposed by the NRL. The more serious the offense, the more serious the punishment.

Mate you can do a lot of damage when your behind a steering wheel drunk...

No shit but what has that got to do with Jack assaulting random strangers? Unless your ex-colleagues were NRL players that has zero relevance to this as well.

He plead guilty. He did what they accused him of and what he’s accused of is a violent unprovoked attack on members of the public

Comparing him to other workers isn’t a like for like
Wighton is paid substantially more than most and part of that package is that he’s a face of a major national sporting club, that inheritedly makes the NRL different
He has responsibilities beyond the football field and is compensated accordingly

If he wants to be treated like a regular joe with a regular job, he can give up his pay packet and go and dog ditches, which was his upside in an alternate universe where he isn’t a gifted footballer
Playing professional RL is a privilege, not a right

And he’s not losing his job. He’s being stood down from it as punishment for an abhorrent crime which again HE HAS PLEAD GUILTY TOO
