lyon has to win the most overated player this year... i have never seen anything that says he should be earning what he is. i wonder if he never did his walk to wee waa if he would still have an nrl career or if he would have been found out a couple years ago.

I would say the most frightening stat out of that is the 0 line break assists and only 1 try assist . surely that would tell Dessie that he isn't a 5/8. compare that to monaghan with 7 line break assists and 13 try assists. I spose he did play a fair bit of half when Orford was out though. Even finchy has had 4 line break assists and 6 try assists in a relatively quiet season so far for the eels.

The sad thing is they picked him again for origin. When are the NSW selectors going to realise that the NSW team is lacking and seriously needs pace! You have Lyon and King both out wide who couldn't run out of sight. Selecting Snake for the last game was a step in the right direction but they really should look at Grothe or Merrit for the wing and perhaps slot King back in the centres where his speed is not such a great issue. Having guys like King playing out of position is rediculous.

FFS get him out of the NSW team. I couldn't care less if he played for NSW or not, just as long as he plays for Manly.

Would really like to see less Parra supporters having their say on Lyon though. Sure, you can have your opinions, but a Parra supporters opinion on Lyon is tainted some what. Other supporters on this forum have already picked this up. Have a look at this thread and see where the majority of posts are coming from. Parra Eels are the one that built him up as this big superstar who they wouldn't release because he is to good a player to let go. The Eels are the ones that talked up and forced up his price. You guys are judging him based on his salary. Don't worry about how much other clubs pay for players. Remember that there are only 2 clubs that have never broken any salary caps rules since being introduced. One of them is the Titans and the other is... you guessed it Manly.

Before he went to England he was awesome in Origin. He comes back and he's a crap centre and and even worse five-eighth. He's lost his touch so we're entitled to say what we like about him.
