Jamie Lyon - Gone...

Ryan Cross was on the verge of NSW selection in 2000 when he broke his leg. He missed nearly 2 full seasons before successfully coming back last year. He was Easts top tryscorer in 2003. In 2004 Ryan Coss will fully realise his potential and play rep footy. Time will prove me right. Hodges and Cross could very well be the Australian centre pairing for the Anzac test.

He could probably live in Wee Waa for the rest of his life on what he has already made from footy.

If this ends up being true, it'll be a big loss for Parramatta, and for the NRL in general. He's great to watch.

If he comes back with another club, it'll all smell very fishy...

Although, if Parra were smart about it they'd make sure he signed something that states he can't play for another NRL side for a specified length of time.

Cheers,
Ben S.

I just hope if he does come back its with Parra and not the Roosters who seem to always pull money out of their arse for any talent they want and stay under the cap

Cross has been going great, last year and this year, I don't think rep footy is beyond him, although there are a lot of class centres around these days, one less if Lyon doesn't come back.

But if he does find another club, you can bet the house it will be with the Sea Eagles.

Ryan Cross is a great player and he will play for NSW and Australia in 2004. As far as Lyons goes, I'd say that he wants a change of scenery and I'm sure he will be playing at another NRL club some time in the future. He is only 22.

I thought Cross had some affiliation with Qld?

Play for New South Wales? How much do you know about your own players? Ryan Cross is a Queenslander.

Nah, he's from Sydney.

My bad. I thought I heard that somewhere. My humble apologies.

I'd personally think Cooper, Gasnier, Gidley, Lewis etc. would still be in front of him.

He's actually a roosters junior, and is not a Queenslander.

More of a convert from a Union high school than a Roosters junior in the mould of Luke Ricketson...

Cheers,
Ben S.

Oh my god...are you mental?

You haven't read Roosters posts before?? If you have a look around you'll find more than enough evidence to have hiom committed!

does anyone else think there a good chance we'll see Lyon in a Wallabies jersey by the end of the year.

If you think, "No way!", just remeber the exact same happened a year or two ago with Nathan Blacklock. He said he was having 'personal problems' due to the death of his father and didn't want to play footy anymore. Then two weeks after he quits NRL he is at a NSW Waratahs press conference saying how excited he is to be playing again.

Peter Sterling referred to this situation as a smokescreen. Very true.

Now Jamie Lyon is having 'personal problems' due to city living and doesn't want to play footy anymore.

Is this another blacklockesqe smokescreen?

When is the ARU press conference when Jamie will parade around in his new Super 12 jersey?
