Really if we wanted to chase Hayne, we could probably get away we just re-signing De-Gios / Wicks ($150k each) and look for a cheapie prop. That would give us some depth / experience.

One difference though is the fact that we will be without one of the most highly paid players (Watmough), and our best prop (Paulo).

Despite our apparent cheating, we didn't actually get much value for it.

Yeah but you're not comparing apples with apples. Storm were fielding a team in that year they were caught which was $1M over the then $4M cap.

We have been deemed to be $570k over a $6.8M cap and the $570k is made up of 3 or 4 years worth of suspect TPAs.

Difference is they were way over the standard cap, like over a million over, we were still under on regular spending. So it's not unfeasible for us to retain most if not all of our roster and still be compliant.

The issue here is TPA's but that's not the clubs problem, nor should it be, that's up to the managers to get, right?

If Mannah is on $400k as you suggest, he is only costing us $100k because he's the only player eligible for long service allowance thing.

I doubt that next season Ma'u, Edwards, Moeroa and Pritchard would be on that much as you have indicated.
