Are you saying he's a loser and didn't make it in his NFL dream (tm)?
I did. Olympic 7s rugby is a good platform from which he can command a Euro or Japanese rugby deal. A deal from Europe or Japan would open those territories to Hayne's "brand", his clothing line, and whatever else he and his manager can get off the ground. It would be more lucrative to him than an Australian deal, and leave him more in control of his "image" than being back here in the fishbowl.
Initially I suggested he wouldn't make the cut. Now I can see he's only quitting because he won't make a go of it (starting team, week in week out) and now there is no more money to be made for his brand from that territory.
Our media are onto him now ;-).
How can he be a loser if he quit? The truth never gets in the way of a good story for the media. Him quitting suits them so they can make stories up and lay the boot in until he does something great again and then he can make them even more money.
I know what the stepping stone could be for offers but i do not believe that is his motive. He is a league player, he hasn't played rugby, if he doesn't go back to the 49ers i think he will request to play for us.......
I would say that the opportunity to compete in the olympic games which as a person who grew up in track and field dreaming of going to an olympics would have been right there with playing for either of his countries in rugby league, which he has done.
He already achieved what he wanted to, he made an NFL starting team without any experience, the olympics will be his last achievement until he comes back and leads us to premiership glory.
He has won a SOO series and a WC too. The GF will be his very last achievement to get.
I just don't know why you post so much about him just to lay the boot in? You are worse than the media to be honest, at least they get paid to lay the boot into people.
