Jarryd Hayne criticises pricks in pink for not giving Parramatta Eels a fair go

They were just discussing this on 100% Footy. I pretty much agree with their general consensus.

It will depend on if another team needs a fullback. He's too inconsistent for fullback.
His best position is on the wing. He's big, he's strong & he's still quick.

I'd be very surprised if any other team wants him. If Parra want to play him next year on the wing, how much will he be offered? Not half as much as he thinks he's worth.

Interesting that the Eels haven't offered him a contract for 2019 yet, so he can't be much of a priority.
He has proven that he is happy to take pay cuts so I don't really think you have much of a point re: "what he thinks he's worth"

Also, don't assume that something isn't locked away or agreed in principle just because it hasn't been announced in the media.

You are conveniently forgetting his injuries earlier in the year.

That aside, to suggest to a Parra Fan that Hayne has at times been inconsistent is the very essence of 'stating the bleeding obvious'.

If he's as shit as you say he is then surely no-one else will offer him extra $$$. Sounds like you are having a bet each way.

So, you are predicting he will be injured again at the start of next season?

Where have I said that Hayne is "shit"? I've said no such thing.
Look, I'm really sorry if Hayne is your 'special friend' & you feel the need to defend him, but there's no need to be so dramatic & overly sensitive.

If you have comprehension & literacy issues I'll spell it out, again, for those with those challenges.
Hayne could have been an all time great. He's big, strong, fast & has all the skills, he's a natural athlete.

My criticism lies at his inconsistency that's the result of a a piss-poor attitude, sheer laziness & a bloated ego.

Prediction?; I'd bet London to a brick that Hayne will be injured at some point during next season & will have yet another season where he's hot & cold. He'll play his best footy at the end of the season when he's chasing another contract.

Hahahaha, you're a real hoot Gaz.
Let's say you're correct, Hayne doesn't even honour contracts much less a verbal agreement.

But you're probably safe. I doubt any other club will make him an offer.

Well Gary tends to post about a lot of topics, most of which aren't Hayne. Not you though. So if Hayne is anyone's special friend, who do you think is more likely?

Virtually every post of yours is about Hayne's limitations. I politely point out a couple of counter points for your consideration and you immediately launch into a Hayne is your 'special friend' response.

That's priceless!

If you had comprehension skills you'd realise that many of us (myself included) have already made those observations.

Prediction? You'll raise your percentage of posts about Hayne from 92% up to 97%.

Thanks Einstein. I already pointed that out.

You think he only going to sign another 1-year contract?

I love the ‘He plays his best footy when he is chasing a contract’ line.
He wasn’t off contract in 2009 and 2014 when he won his 2 Dally M’s!

+1.

I was dirty on him for going to the Tits, but I don’t agree with the “ plays good at contract time” . If he was money hungry he would have stayed at the Tits this year and collected $700k more. For mine that and your Dally M references is sufficient evidence.

His stint at the Tits was poor, but who would have their mind in the job with a rape allegation in the USA plus getting a woman you hardly know pregnant, trying to do the right thing and be parents only to find that it ends in tears with the Mum and kid leaving the state.

Can’t excuse his period at the Tits even with all that other stuff going on in the background.

He was shytehouse on the field and from all reports even worse off the field.

I can only go on what I see and read, but he seems to have pulled his head in at Parra this year.

Agreed. Plus, I don’t think his heart was in it at the Titans. Parra boy at heart.

Without a doubt Jarryd is brittle underneath. We all have watched him since his teens and as much as it appears he gives no f**ks, he is soft when it comes to injuries, soft at times when the going gets tough. However I would never go as far as saying that he is selfish like Tomic or Kygrios (sp). He has flaws like all of us and I think behind the veneer is a guy who struggles with expectations to deliver.

True. It also didn’t help that Neil Henry didn’t want him there.

Jarryd Hayne has run out of excuses, according to Paul Gallen

The Parramatta Eels are off the bottom of the NRL ladder for the first time since the opening week of this year's season, and much of their recent success can be attributed to the improved form of Jarryd Hayne.

That's not something you would have predicted after the beginning of the season, where the Eels defied all pre-season expectations and lost their first six games of 2018, and 11 of the first 13.

They have won two games on the trot and now sit above the North Queensland Cowboys on the ladder, but there is confusion around why the Eels, and particularly Hayne, have decided to turn it on when the season is over.

There is speculation that the only reason Hayne has started to put in some hard-yakka on the field is because of his current contract status, which runs out at the end of this season.

Hayne also recently revealed an upset stomach which required minor surgeries and total overhaul of his diet was at the centre of his lethargic start to the season.

Cronulla Sharks legend Paul Gallen wasn't buying it.

"That's an excuse," Gallen said on 100% Footy.

"I've heard it all before, he had a stomach bug.

"Once you get on that field, there are no excuses. No one cares if you're sick or injured, you have to go out there and do your job for the team.

"I love Jarryd Hayne. I wouldn't consider him a mate, but I like him. I've played a lot of football with him for Australia and NSW, he's one of the best payers I've ever played with, without a doubt.

"I want to see him stay in the NRL and play well, but, I'm sick of hearing the excuses.

"Once you get on that field, it doesn't matter. If you're going to run on that field you have to be at the best of your ability.

"This game is about what you do on the field, at the end of the day. You hear about players who are the worst trainers in the world, they're not strong in the gym or they don't train well, and then you get them on the field and they're the best.

"It matters what we do on the field. It does affect your preparation, but you need to take away the excuse.

"You've got to get out there and do your job, and he's been doing that lately, and I hope he gets another contract."

With the Hayne-plane coming off contract in three weeks, pundits are beginning to wonder whether he wants to run around again in 2019.

Would there be a team, other than the Eels, that would offer him the chance? His latest performance, where he scored a hat-trick against former ladder-leaders St George Illawarra Dragons, led Phil Gould to believe that perhaps his current position suits his style of game these days.

"What's causing the good form at the moment? Gould asked.

"Is it the fact that he's off-contract, or that he loves Parramatta? What is it?

"You wouldn't know with Jarryd. Is he just a winger these days? He doesn't have to be out there doing much tackling and fielding the ball.

"He was certainly in the right place at the right time the other night and was exuding confidence."

Gallen was sure that Hayne would return to Sydney's west next year.

"It's got to be Parramatta," Gallen said.

"I think they're the only club that will sign him. I don't know how many clubs outside of Parramatta will want to sign him.

"But, it's a money issue. How much money is Jarryd Hayne prepared to take to stay at Parramatta?"

I can see Paul Gallan infesting the media when he retires

similar to his carry of the footy, killing anything else worthwhile

Hmmm well Paul Gallen was fined $50,000 for calling the NRL "merkins" on twitter.

https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/nrl/teams/sharks/paul-gallen-twitter-scandal-sharks-and-nsw-captain-banned-fined-50000-for-offensive-remark/news-story/6eb81ebdfaf34cefe1963ae22e5e355f

And then stated that he is battling depression.

https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/nrl/opinion/phil-rothfield/monday-buzz-paul-gallens-hidden-battle-with-depression/news-story/ffe0e2e8c6e6e67374a8a2e49f47b210

So for someone who has declared mental illness, it is a little hypocritical to be using throw away lines like "no more excuses" when he is only guessing why a player dips in and out of form.
