I'd prepare for disappointment in 2019, but I can actually see a big clean out next year, that will involve playing roster, coaching staff and front office.

We know BAs contract concludes end 2019 but is it also true that Bernie's does as well? Im praying for a miracle in 2019 given we will most probably lose our Coach, CEO and at least 10 players at seasons end.
A recipe for a new start or absolute chaos?

Well that would have to be Mahoney, given the other 28 players in the squad.

I’d love to re-sign him but I’m not spewing as much as when he left last time.
At the end of the day, even though it’ll draw the ire of noise, chippy et al, next year is a write off and signing Hayne would be a very stop gap measure.

If next year is a right-off (and I agree, it is) then why not have the foresight to ensure one of the club's all time greatest players is there for the new era with the opening of the new stadium? What is there to lose? After all, this club isn't going to be a serious contender for years (if ever). It's all just shits and giggles now isn't it? At least with Hayne in the side they might have gotten a few people to come and sit in this new stadium.

His average salary over the period was very acceptable .... no one had issues with it when we signed him

The only player we have that i am truely POed about salary wise is MJ ... others probably warranted their money at the time they were signed .... sure they havent lived up to it, but no one has a crystal f**kin ball

Hell MJ might even get his finger out and play decent next season, but i'd probably still consider him overpaid

I'd say a fresh start, particularly for a new coach who will be able to turn over our roster.

I don't understand the "he was our best player in 2018" nonsense - surely Daniel Alvaro deserves that mention?

You're right. But Hayne was far and away our nest back - and he was battling injury and fitness issues all year.

TBH any new coach would probably love to have a relatively cleaned out roster

People bitch about our cap, but we are gonna be under the pump for maybe 1 season - and even then our roster isnt too bad if players play near their potentiql

Truely f**ked up rosters have contracts on overs they cant get rid of for years
