News Jarryd Hayne sexual assault trials

It's pretty amazing what some people will overlook when the person in question has money, status and talent. Much more high profile example but look at how many people are/were in denial about Michael Jackson. Guy had countless sexual abuse accusations from children but he's one of the most talented musicians of all time so people looked the other way and said "No way this is true, the children are lying"

In the circumstance of Hayne he still has a net worth in the millions of dollars and is one of the highest profile former athletes in the country.
I thought "Haynesy" ran out of money fighting his case?

Surely not...even if we say it cost him a million dollars to fight the case (Which would be quite significant) you'd still expect him to have at least a few million dollars somewhere after 11 seasons in the NRL as one of its star players and of course the time in NFL as well.

I do think the cash will run out though, it isn't like he can do what a lot of other former players do and go into coaching or open up a business now.

I suspect he wouldn't have a lot left - legal fees, 10% tithe to his church, tax, manager fees, and he probably spent a lot on a high lifestyle. Plus he had to make the payout to some plaintiff in the US too.

I read in one of the recent articles that he's pretty much run out of cash. He probably hasn't had any income since 2018.

There are people that have won the lottery and been destitute a year later. Hayne doesn't strike me as the brightest bloke and sports a full of middle men taking their cut. Family as well.

I think Jarryd deserved 10 years for these comments alone

Hayne briefly went outside to tell the taxi driver he would be a little while. When he came back inside, he caught the end of the grand final between the Roosters and the Storm in the woman’s living room.

Go the Roosters, I’m jealous,” Hayne said, explaining in evidence that he was jealous because he had a chance to sign with the Roosters in 2016.

“You know … so those thoughts of ‘it could’ve been me winning a comp’, but it wasn’t to be,” Hayne said.

Most people watch the GF with mates, he obviously doesn't have any.
