Judas? He's no Judas, he's been loyal for a king time.
All the best to him. Greatest parra player ever and I hope he does well.

He can't play in the NFL this season, even if he miraculously demonstrated that he was ready (the rosters are closed). His best shot is to get on a training squad, and maybe get a spot in one of their 'World Football League' / 'European League' teams for experience.

And that's what he is aiming for.

He knows he won't be in the big league.

he said in his press conference that this time next year he will know whether he has a solid contract or not.

I have always been a keen follower of the NFL and those suggesting Hayne won't make it are going to be very disappointed. He is a natural for Special Teams role on kick returns and will earn millions in NFL.

He will do well.

Parramatta are adamant their NRL revival under coach Brad Arthur has not been based on one player and will continue despite Jarryd Hayne's exit.
The superstar fullback's shock announcement on Wednesday he would be leaving the Eels to chase his dream as a NFL player was met with widespread disappointment at Parramatta.
Eels boss Scott Seward said the club were not prepared to stand in the way of Hayne's dreams but admitted the loss of the Dally M player of the year would leave a big hole at the club.
"It obviously is going to be a blow today," Seward said.

"But this club is not about one individual ... the plan now doesn't change; we want to be a sustainable club.
"We would like Jarryd to be a part of it of course, but we are still out there trying for the ultimate success - that won't change."
After back-to-back wooden spoons, Hayne spearheaded the Eels' revival this year in Brad Arthur's first season with the club. They fell short of a finals berth on percentages after losing their last two games to Newcastle and Canberra who had long been out of finals contention.
Hayne was rewarded for his efforts in taking out the Dally M player of the year last week with Johnathan Thurston.
There is no obvious replacement within the Eels ranks for Hayne, amid reports Canberra utility back Reece Robinson agreed to terms with Parramatta over the weekend after a lacklustre season with the Raiders.
Troubled Wallabies utility Kurtley Beale looms as a possible replacement for Hayne in the Eels' No.1 jersey, so too Manly star Brett Stewart who is said to be unhappy at Brookvale.
Stewart has previously worked with Arthur during his time as Geoff Toovey's understudy at the Sea Eagles in 2013.
Unconfirmed reports have Stewart's good friend and Sea Eagles teammate Anthony Watmough linking with the Eels next season, despite being under contract to Brookvale for one more season.
St George Illawarra's Brett Morris could be another possibility, with reports coming out of the joint venture suggesting the Dragons could release the representative star to easy salary cap pressure.
Regardless, Eels chairman Steve Sharp says life will go on at Parramatta without Hayne.
"We have been rebuilding this club for the last two years, and that is not just around Jarryd," he said.
"It is not a one man team.
"As great as Jarryd is as a footballer, life moves on and we move on with it.
"And we think that high-calibre players will want to come to our club."

I seem to recall a few new recruits saying that playing with Hayne was one of the drawcards of signing with Parra. We lose that instantly. We have no other player that others would say 'I wanna play with him'. Also think it spells the end of Sandow. Without Hayne creating 90% of everything, we need a world class halfback, and even an improved Sandow is far short of that

If I buy a Hayne Membership do I get a free trip to the USA included?

f**ks sakes merkins! We've missed the finals five straight years and won two spoons since Hayne became a star. Is it not possible that we're better off without him?

In 2016? Probably.
In 2015? Definitely not. Our season next year is now pretty much a write-off. You've said yourself, we won those spoons because Hayne was injured. We probably make the 8 this year if Peats doesn't get injured. Hayne was going to be an integral part of our team next year and now he has left a massive hole that is to be filled by whom? No one with anywhere near the talent he has, that's for sure.

I have always been a keen follower of the NFL and those suggesting Hayne won't make it are going to be very disappointed. He is a natural for Special Teams role on kick returns and will earn millions in NFL.

I follow the NFL too, and I'm not so sure of him making it. Maybe on a practice squad, but is that what he really wants?
Teams' don't sign players as specialist punt returners. They are usually wide receivers or running backs who are versatile enough to play special teams. Same goes for the defensive special teams - they use safeties, corners and wide receivers to tackle the punt returner.

If Hayne wants to make it, he has to find a position to specialise in. He has all the attributes for a few positions but a lot of them rely on instinct and feel of the game which can take years to develop. Especially the safety positions, cornerback and wide receiver.
It's not like he's trying to be an offensive lineman or defensive tackle where it's all push-and-shove and relatively easier to learn.
I hope he goes well. It might bring some International attention to the NRL if he does. I just don't see it happening to be honest.

Although if he does happen to end up playing for the Seahawks, I hope he does his hammy every game.

we can hate on hayne all we like, and the timing for the club and us as fans is certainly not great
but at the end of the day its his job and his life...no one can begrudge him for doing what is right for himself....im sure not many people would think twice about our employer if we were leaving to chase our dream or a better opportunity

Damn.

I was hoping he'd sign for the WSW's.
I wish him well. I'm sad. I'm gutted actually.
But life goes on.

NFL has far too many nuances to come across late.
If he is not back playing league within 2 years then I'm not a skinny, white, balding guy.

Honestly? I wouldn't chase the money if I was on a monstrous wage to begin with.

But that's me.

Nor would I
But it does not seem like he is chasing the money to be perfectly honest.
He will never earn as much over there as he would here between salary + sponsorship

Rosters are closed? Say What?
Everyday there are guys get signed to or cut from practice squads
and everyday there are guys getting cut from the 53 man rosters and guys from practice squads getting promoted
What would prevent him from doing the same?

Depth charts.

The only way he can get a gig is if someone gets put on IR, and they pick up Hayne.

However, they won't do that - if Hayne gets picked as a replacement for a player in IR, he effectively takes that player's spot and will have to play.

Hayne might make it, and he might not - but he will have to train and prove himself before anything happens.

Yep.

I was mostly responding to people who claim he is chasing money, and, "How can you begrudge him in doing so, if you'd do the same?"

I'm just saying that if I was earning $500,000+ per annum, I'd be in heaven. The prospect of making millions wouldn't phase me, because I've never been one to crave a lavish lifestyle. I just want to be comfortable and happy.

Those guys have all either been previously drafted and cut, or went into a draft and were not signed. They become unrestricted free agents.

And there is the problem, in the world of sport earning a million a year isn't a "monstrous wage".

Though even if it was, it seemingly wouldn't have stopped him as he isn't even guaranteed to get a cent by jumping over.
