that's not true at all. athletically, hayne is a freak here because he does what he does against significantly sub standard athletes.
for the positions he wants to play he doesn't have the athletic ability to match the best of the best. using reasoning of population sizes to compare isn't valid and doesn't hold water. to use say the 100m as an example (primarily because speed is a big requirement of the positions hayne wants to play), one australian has broken the 10 sec barrier (and he did it once without ever coming close again). by your reasoning then only 10 americans should have gone under 10 sec at this point in time, which isn't even close to accurate.
Always surprises me how many aussie league fans make statements like this and expect to get away with it.
Go ahead. Tear me apart too.
Tear you apart? I was responding to Ron's stupid comment about the NFL being bigger and better. Of course it is,
Which is why you spent your reply to him trying to reason why it wasn't.
Come on Pou, stop being an argumentative knob.
If you stop arguing there won't be one will there?
Pou
The best one that you have come up with this year is calling Hayne an albatross.
Mate I use it to describe Hayne with my own mates and make out I made it up.
I don't know if you're superstitious but I f**ken am, and I have had a horrible feeling since about 2010 that Hayne is just bad luck. It's a shame because he is the best player I have ever seen.

As great as he was I thought the exact same about Hindmarsh.
What? How is he an Albatross. Sounds interesting and funny and I want to know so as I can use it too.
Pou said it in this context or similar, "Now that we have killed our albatross we have more than enough money to spend on forwards." Hayne is an albatross because we know he is too valuable but super expensive (at the expense of acquiring other players) but deep down we know we can't get rid of him.
If he fails in NFL its cause he wasn't good enough at the game. NFL is different.Maybe Haynes athletic abilities are suited to league more-Has anyone thought of that?
Nfl is different on many front. Look at a guy like Grownkoski for NE.He isn't the fastest or athletic but he is BIG! And has great hands-Makes him a great go to man for Brady. At 1.98 cm and 120kgs maybe one of the best tight ends.Pure beast of a player.
Some team have a big running back-theres have a small one.Looks at sproles who is 5'6.Some have no real footwork there just big strong and run straight and hard. There would be other league players who would be better suited too this than Hayne! I actualy thik a guy like slater or bowen could of been simmmilar to a sproles style with there footwork and excellent acceleration.
As far as African American goes. We USA population is about 15% African American-But 63% of NFL players are African American. Not sure what the stats work out there but you would think around 12/1 if considered population etc...
In the NRL there are guys who are Physically as good or better. Hayne has footwork and brains to beat players. He isn't that fastest or strongest by any means. The fact he can pass is what catches players in two minds and gives him time and space. He wont get that in the NFL!
Is semi a better athlete than Hayne?
