Jarryd Hayne to the NFL!

I already have a jersey - a number 7 Colin Kaepernick (not the one I would have chosen, but it was a gift from my Mum so I can't complain). I'm already planning on buying another (probably Patrick Willis or Frank Gore).
I wear them when I watch Niners games every week, and when I'm in the US.

Funnily enough, I actually wear my Eels jerseys around more in the US than I do over here. I only wear them when I go to games in Australia, but over there I just wear them around everywhere. I'm spreading the word of the Eels.

Good stuff. I guess I need one of these jet-setting jobs so I can get more use out of my jersey. Then again, it only cost me about $10.

I would see him more as a 7th string receiver (emergency slot receiver) at this stage. If he plays in the backfield he will be restricted to catching short passes to the outside. He's not taking hand-offs from the QB this year.

You could be right.
I never saw him as a RB anyway. Not sure why he is focusing on that position. I know his running game is great in the NRL. I thought he could have been a decent slot receiver - good hands, strong, decent speed ability to break tackles one-on-one.
He doesn't have the speed to stretch the field, but he could be good in the slot, or on a slant.

Niners are thin at rb, wr and special teams and very close to breaching the cap. They still have no kick return specialist as well. If he impresses coaches and we have as many injuries as last year I reckon he has a chance. In saying that, the miners coaching staff could take the team to hell this year, so wait and see. Definitely won't be trading my rice Jersey yet

They won't be thin at RB if they re-sign Gore. Hyde and Hunter are more than handy backups.
WR they defintely need to recruit/draft. They will probably lose Crabtree, and it looks like Stevie Johnson may be cut unless he takes a pay cut. They could use a decent kick returner though. I thought Hyde did ok in his few goes there, but Ellington wasn't really doing anything special. And would rather save Hyde for his RB duties which will be more prevalent next season.

Hunter is coming back from a reco, gore is a god but a year older, we got down to 4th string rb at the end of last year. Watching the miners draft and free agent situation will be very interesting, as they may miss out on a top line wr etc due to the need to fill holes in the line early on

We also should be looking at a defensive tackle to cover for when Justin Smith retires, plus considering our terrible pass blocking last season we should be looking at an offensive guard as well. Looks like Iupati will probably be leaving which leaves a massive gap in our o-line.

I just happened to be watching Mallrats right before I signed up for some site years ago, and have just used the same name wherever I go. I also liked that that character was named after one of my all-time favourite movie characters - Quint, the shark hunter from Jaws.
