Assuming Bush is back next week, I think Hayne is active and Davis goes back down. They probably just wanted to give Davis touches when the game was out of hand. He didn't do much so back down he goes. Hayne stays as he can play special teams as well as 3rd string RB and will probably be used in punt return.

Aussies need to get used to him not doing much. I think we will see 1 or 2 highlight plays from Hayne this season but that is about it unless there is more injuries to Bush or Hyde.

Hayne is also 6.2... Where as Williams looks around the 5.10-11 mark.

Which can sometimes be an advantage. FWIW Peterson is 6'0. Williams is a bowling ball of muscle. Hayne has put on some muscle himself though in the last 6-12 months.

But it's also the reason it's hard to get his shoulder level below everyone, AP for most part just powers through people.

His return is basically the only bright spot for the niners today. Hopefully he gets plenty of work in the 4th.

So why are the persisting with him?

Hayne being #1 PR, lack of trust to block for Kaep (who stinks anyway), wanting to prove to themselves and fans that they made a good draft pick in Davis? All of the above?

I think it's about giving a 4th round draft pick a chance, and not trusting Haynes running style. But Davis is terrible and probably won't last long because he clearly isn't up to it, I don't know why they don't use as PR/KR and backup for Hyde.
And the 9ers stink. their offensive line is terrible and I think that has a lot to do with why Kaepernick sucks so much. He seems to spend a lot of time running away from the defence and that must play on his mind a lot, he probably half his time looking at where he's going to run when the inevitable happens:p.
